I tried using a piece of pipe to get some leverage, then switched to using the seat post to do the same. I just ended up bruised, tired, and frustrated.Well, I just ordered this tool. It's extremely thick so no risk of breaking it, and it took about 30 seconds to have both pedals cleanly unscrewed from the bike. It's worth the price and much cheaper and more practical than taking the bike to the shop just to loosen the pedals.Just buy it. Next time, you'll be able to change your pedals whenever you need to, and you can even lend it to your friends. It pays for itself!Also, I didn't realize this at first, but the wrench has some hex openings that allow you to use your existing Allen (hex) keys to get the extra leverage you need to remove pedals from the back of the crank.
