The recess in the crash protector is deep enough that you need to use the long end of the key; I put the old bolt on the short end of the allen to get extra leverage and things snugged down plenty, though may hit it later with a 10mm allen socket to get really tight.They don't seem amazingly strong, but what do you expect for $30? They are just there to provide some extra protection against tip over when parked / pushing it around / "driveway drops". That's a real risk when you load a bike with cargo and stop at a gas station after a couple hours ripping down the highway! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 85mph lay down *by D***W on Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2020* For $20 crash pegs I’m surprised! Saved my bike from an 85mph lay down. Was icy under bridge at 6am and it slid around 200 yards. Plastic part broke off but the bolt sticks out far enough where it grinned down half an inch and still saved my clutch cover!!Picked the bike up and rode home thanks to $600 worth of gear and these $20 pegs lol.
