Microplane Premium Classic Zester (Classic Blue)

I was hesitant to get this because of the price and because one of the reviews said they use it so much they have to keep replacing it because it wears out, but they love it so much they do keep replacing it. I have only used it to zest lemon so far but I have plans for ginger and Parmesan cheese. I managed not to slice my fingers doing this and rinsing directly after using it cleans up well.

Ive never had anything grade pilllowy piles of hard cheeses like this does. Its really excellent. I use it at least once a week to grate parmesan or other similar cheese, and my wife uses it probably once a month to grate citrus peels for recipes. Ours gets a ton of use. I also wash it in the dishwasher. With our use, and the fact we wash in the dishwasher, I have to replace this every 2-3 years because it gets dull and doesnt work as well over time. Im on my 3rd one now.

I do a lot of cooking/baking with utensils that I inherited from my mother. I finally bought a new zester and was amazed at how easy it is to use. It took only seconds to zest two lemons. The pieces came off small and fine with very little pressure or effort.

I really like the design of this zester. It is sharp and makes zesting fun. Some reviewers complain that it also is sharp of the sides of the metal design. I find the sides useful to get into narrow curves of the lemon fruit.

Does the job it is supposed to. Easy to hold and fun colors.

This came damaged with a bend in the metal near the far end. However, it was still functional on most of the length so I never got around to replacing it. Fast forward a year or so and it still grates my parmesan sharply and is easy to hold and clean. Microplanes are great. I love the blue color too, and the fact that it comes with a cover.

Do yourself a favor and purchase genuine Microplane brand. Works flawlessly! Others, not so much.

It is easy to use for the purpose mentioned in the title. However I still use a bigger grater to grate my cheese for larger quantities like when I am preparing a pizza.

I've owned several microplanes before and would only buy this brand. Only bought this as one of mine went walkies at work. Bought another one too, as it was orange, because reasons.I use 2 all during service, one for parmesan and one for lime zest and nutmeg etc. Their compact size makes them ideal when adding finishing touches to a dish. Great build quality and a ergonomic handle that makes frequent use a doddle.Highly recommended for the home gamer or professional chef.Pro Chef tip. When zesting fruit, invert the microplane and draw it across the skin of the fruit. This means the zest is collected in the "U" shaped channel and you can see how much zest is being removed, as opposed to rubbing the fruit over the plane. It makes a HUGE difference 👨‍🍳
