is there a protective layer on top that needs to be removed?

There is a protective shiny paper layer on top, but it does not come off. It is fully attached to the magnet.

Everyone is saying they're not sublimation safe? Do you press them at a low temperature how do you make these work??

I press at 365F for 60 seconds and it works fine for me.
