You should remove the metal pin before installing the ball joint side
This shock and all other aftermarket trunk lid shoks for BMW F10 (such as ENSUN) are made by the Chinese BMTSR company. They all come in BMTSR packaging and they are exactly the same. Only the retailer's name is different. I have a mechanic shop and at least tried 3 different brands on Amazon. All the same so go with the cheapest one when you are trying to buy one from amazon. The quality is pretty good for the price. It fits and works perfectly. I noticed some people complaining about the ball joint side being too tight and not fitting on the car's knob. In fact the problem is not the size of ball joint. The original BMW spring doesn't have a metal pin to secure the ball joint in the place. This aftermarket one does ( i don't relly know why) So remember to remove the metal pin before installing the ball joint on the knob otherwise its not gonna fit. You can put the pin back in the hole after installing the ball joint on the knob. This will to secure it from coming off.

Works perfectly. Just remove the metal pin first!
Works great. Watched youtube videos of people showing how to change the spring.Make sure you remove the metal pin from the ball end first. Else it won't fit. I didn't realize this and spent 30 minutes to fit the ball end. Then I saw some reviews here which mentioned the metal pin. After removing the pin, it was easy to click it in. Best fix under $50 for your F10 bmw. The dealer wanted $500 to fix this!

Love at first sight broken at first use.
This product got me excited because my trunk lid was flying open. Replaced the passenger side, and thought what the heck why not replace the other side. Should have left well enough alone; ain't broke don't fix it. But how would I know. On first use, yes, you guessed it, bang; broken. Now I have to order and wait for a replacement. Obviously from a different vendor, and model.

Great Product!
The install was easy after following youtube tutorials on how to do it. Trunk opens great now after months of ignoring the issue and carefully opening it myself applying pressure with my hand so that it wouldn't shoot up lol. The only thing I had issues with was that the OEM spring didn't have a safety pin at the end of the ball side so I was trying to face the new one in, which did not work because this new one does have a safety pin that keeps it from going into the ball socket. Make sure to remove the pin first before trying to waste your energy forcing it in cause it won't work. Other than that good product for the price!
