Haven't these come along in the last 15 years?
I was issued a swivel cushion about 15 years ago by Social Services back in the days when they were considerably more expensive than they are now - they were also thicker, harder, more uncomfortable and more difficult to get to grips with. I actually ordered 2 of these - one for my mum (who is now struggling with a very painful back and cannot get in and out of the car without considerable difficulty) and one for me take with me when I'm a passenger in other people's cars. Well, I was so impressed with this that it's been upgraded to the one I will use every day, and my old tattier looking one will be used in other places when necessary. When I got my first swivel cushion I actually had trouble getting it to work (I still do on some days when I'm not particularly well co-ordinated) and it was uncomfortable to sit on, along with it raising my height by a good 2.5 cm which meant that my thighs constantly rubbed against the steering column because I've got short legs and need to be quite far forward in order to reach the pedals. That's not the case with this one - I'm not raised as far which although it took me a little while to adjust to, also meant I no longer catch my legs on the underside of the steering column, but I don't have any trouble literally swivelling myself from my seated position with my feet outside the car to my seated position for driving. For those who have not yet experienced the delight of a swivel car cushion - what difference does this make? Well, depending on your disability, it can make quite a lot of difference. Since I've had a swivel cushion I've not been stuck outside my car because some inconsiderate person has parked so close to me that I'm physically unable to get in my car - I just wriggle in beside the car so my back is facing the car seat; sit down; lift my feet onto the door sill (which I have to do manually because of a lack of strength) and then swing myself round 90 degrees. And because this cushion swivels so easily there's virtually no physical effort required. When you want to get out of the car, just reverse the process. Again, it's not a disaster if you are unable to open your door wide as the cushion does all the heavy work - you just have to swing yourself so you are facing the side of the car that is causing the obstruction, and you can then heave yourself out of the car without causing a lot of pain. Whilst it's still preferable to be able to park in a disabled bay so I can get the door wide open, it's no longer a case of having to go home if I can't find one because I can't get out of the car, or having to wait outside the car for the driver of the car next door to come back so I can get in. And at under ยฃ10 for a single cushion, it's not a bank breaker to buy 2 so you can have one in the car that you use most of the time and one on the seat of your mobility scooter if you have one and it doesn't have a swivel seat. Or in another car where you are a regular (although not frequent) passenger.

Nur beding sehr gut
Sehr gut aber durch das Plastikteil in der Mitte nicht zum langen sitzen geeignet. Funktioniert auch sehr gut auf dem Boden um stehende Patienten zu drehen

Just about swivels...
Bought for my elderly mother for use both at the dining table and in the car. Not bad, I guess does the job, but I had hoped it would swivel more easily. It can't be related to weight, she's about 7 stone. Nevertheless glad I bought ๐

THE ONLY 1 WORTH IT!!!
Perfection. My Nan loves it. She swivelled with comfort ease & joy on Saturday. The kids were proud to give their Great grandmother of 81 soon 82 this gift. It's nice and soft so it doesn't cause any discomfort, anyone can use it comfortably, there's no need to adjust anything all you need to do is place it on the seat. Sit, and enjoy. It's also able to be folded around the centre and placed in your handbag or any bag. She has a hernia at the moment which is why I did not want a hard rotating cushion as the others available are hard, offer no portable storage and may cause discomfort for her injury. The other options available also can not be stored in your glovebox and you'll have to get the right size. This beauty I bought at FULL PRICE, NO DISCOUNTS FOR ME! has everything you need want and more.

FLIMSY - DOESN'T WORK AS DESCRIBED
VERY POOR QUALITY. VERY FLIMSY. A BIT OF THE HEM HAS COME OFF IN A COUPLD OF USES. DOESN'T SWIVEL EASILY IF YOU'RE HELPING SOMEONE TO TURN AROUND. THE PERSON HAS TO BE POSITIONED SITTING IN THE CENTRE OF THE CUSHION FOR IT TO WORK AT ALL, AND EVEN THEN, IT DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK. NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN'T USE THE CUSHION THEMSELVES. MIGHT WORK BETTER IF THE PERSON IS ABLE TO MOVE/SWIVEL THEMSELVES.
