Insightful, articulate honesty from one so young
Surprising, delightful, honest read from Taylor, who at just age 13 demonstrates more mature emotional intelligence and grasp of language than many adults possess. Well-written, pithy essays move the reader on a journey through the many overwhelming negative emotions often experienced by TCKs into a place of gratitude, positivity, and ability to see the blessings God is offering. Taylor's vulnerability is disarming, and her personal processing work is made accessible to others through her conversational writing style. A must-read for every teenage TCK and those who care for them!

Children and adults alike will find this book a blessing.
I cannot relate to Taylor's circumstances as a TCK at all but I know that I have experienced all of the same feelings in different settings, and shared all of the same doubts. Taylor's conversations with God are both refreshing and a balm. I will read this again and again, just as I am doing now.

A very interesting and eye-opening book... not ...
A very interesting and eye-opening book...not only about the Japanese culture but also about what third-culture-kids (and their parents!) have to face when they live and work in that country. It is especially impressive to me because it was written by such a young girl. She expresses herself...her observations, thoughts, emotions...very well.

speaks to the heart
each chapter is a true event that caused this young lady to realize what was in her heart and how she was able to turn it into a learning experience. I learned a lot about Japanese culture as well. The writing is well done and I was sad when the book ended and there was no more chapters.

Loved this one!
I wasn't expecting such a well written book from someone so young. I raised 4 TCKs so this really touched me in a personal way. Ms. Murray does a great job of conveying just what was going on and speaks from the heart. Good job!!
