Nice!
Douk audio makes some really nice products. I'm using this between a WiiM Ultra and my Studio Monitors. I'm not a music producer I just enjoy the needles moving as a throwback to earlier days. They seem accurate to me. The display is very customizable with many colors and ranges of brightness. Some reviewers have mentioned a hum and/or noise but that may be because of placement or lower quality cables. I'm using Monoprice Premium cables (Very reasonably priced) for my run and there is no noise whatsover. It's very nicely constructed and the display is gorgeous. It's really eye candy, but it's NICE eye candy! One minor item to note is that the button on the back to select line in or MIC is somehow reversed on mine. MIC=Line In and Line In=MIC. I don't know how this got past quality control and I'm a little disappointed but besides that all is good.

This is a great product for anyone wanting meters for recording or monitoring sound output. Would definitely recommend.

Looks excellent!
Need to be able to turn off the power button LED. It's like a mag - lite flashlight! I cut a piece of black vinyl and stuck it over the button. Looks and works great! Excellent way to add old school meters to your audio system.

Hidden Gem in Amazon Forest!
I understand that Amazon reviews can sometimes be unreliable, so please take this review with a grain of salt. First and foremost, this product doesn't provide any sound enhancements; its sole purpose is aesthetic. I personally wanted to reminisce about my teenage years, and this device fulfills that nostalgia brilliantly. It's a beautifully crafted, sturdy device that serves its intended purpose well. The Gain, Light, and Color settings are just perfect. However, I must admit that the instructions could use some improvement, but nothing in life is perfect. I connected this device to my Yamaha Amp via its output connection, and it worked like magic. I absolutely adore this thing!

Great eye candy!
I'm old school and really like meters and bling on my audio system. The adjustable backlight colors just add to the awesomeness of this otherwise fairly useless tool. It's sensitive to a particular frequency and doesn't really represent total volume- but I didn't get this thinking it was a precise too- just a bit of eye candy for my home theater. Mine is set up to use the internal microphone and it looks great! If you're old school, you'll love the retro coolness of bobbing Vu meters, despite the fact that they are representing just a part of the spectrum.

Why does this exist?
This is the most useless piece of tech I have ever purchased, and I want another one. It does nothing but move needles on a dial with colored lights. I don't even have it plugged into anything. It just listens to the room and the needles move to music, or any noise that my body is capable of generating. There are buttons and knobs that you can twist to do really useless things like change the color of the lights. This makes me feel like I know what I'm doing and can understand the readings on the dials... which I can't. People see this device and assume I'm a knowledgeable audiophile. I am not, but the illusion persists because of the glowing dials. The VU22 feels solid and built to last. I can't wait to play with it after work. I miss it, and I think it's mutual. You need one of these. Maybe two in case one gets lonely.

Piece of junk dont buy
I got the first one and hooked it to an Onkyo 2 channel stereo amplifier hooked to a Schiit Valhalla 2 preamp with a signal from a Schiit Multibit DAC. This is about $1500 worth of high end gear, so I figured this little VU meter would be classy to go along with it. Well, the right channel slowly failed after a week. So I returned it for exactly the same item and it failed OUT OF THE BOX this time, same channel. Clearly, these guys have a quality issue. I hooked the same line out from my Onkyo tuner to a spectrum analyzer and the signal is clear with no noise. Beware of horrible quality, look elsewhere.

Nice Meter Colors!
Bought this to jazz up my stereo set up. Using the mic feature rather then hardwiring and it works perfectly. No problem with low or high level music.
