Great quality at amazing price √√√
I just bought another one of these to hold a 13lbs rig. I've used one for 5 years to hold Canon 800mm + 5DSR, putting ~$17K on the line, and it works great! Desmond's plates are top notch. My only quibble might be their 1/4"-20 screw. I'm using two Really Right Stuff hexagon/allen wrench head screws to be sure (they never strip, and always hold).

Rating upgraded to 5 stars.
The plate itself is as described. It appears well-made, durable, and a good value as well. The problem for me is the mounting screw. The listing clearly states, and shows, a mounting screw with a flat-head screw driver slot and a hex key slot and shows a photo of 2 accompanying hex keys. I bought this plate over others in a similar price range BECAUSE it listed a hex mounting screw as opposed to what actually showed up - a mounting screw with a D-ring and a flat head screw driver slot, no hex key slot and no hex keys. Returning it.11-1-2019Upgrading my rating to 5 stars as Desmond was kind enough to immediately send me the missing hardware after I contacted them directly.

Desmond DPL-100
It's an OK plate that serves its purpose. I'm using this on my Go Pro cage to give Arca compatibility. The mounting screw didn't want to go in at first. It probably had some burs on the threads. I swapped out the screw and all was fine. The screw that came with it is working fine now after running it through a nut a couple of times. Overall, it's a good plate despite the screw and should last a long time.

Nicely balances my Sigma 150-600mm C on a Neewer Gimbal
I purchased the DPL-100 QR lens plate to be able to easily balance my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary + FTZII and Z6II on a Neewer gimbal. With the Neewer supplied QR plate, I couldn't balance the setup when the lens was in the 150mm position without loosening and repositioning the QR plate.. Now, with the DPL-100, I can easily rebalance the system based on the focal length I have set the lens to.

Does the job at a reasonable price
Works great. Now my Nikon 200-500 does not twist with it's single hole mount. I leave it on the lens all the time.

Great value and versatility
Very pleased with this purchase. It’s sturdy and does exactly what I needed it to. 10 out of 10 would buy again.

Works amazing for long lens
I use this for my Sigma 150-600 which doesn’t come with an arcaswiss plate. Slap this guy on there, tighten it down and you’re good to go. The side with the raised stoppers doesn’t cooperate with the sigma, so you’ll have to flip it around to work properly.

screw is too short
Take your pick, the screw is too short or the plate is too thick. I bought 2 of these, one is ok, but on the other one the screw will not slide in the slot because the non-threaded part of the screw is too short.

Excellent for the Nikon 200-500 5.6
I bought this after reading some of the other reviews, particularly those referring to the Nikon 200-500 5.6, which has an appalling tripod foot with only one attachment point for QR plates.I'd tried other Arca Swiss style plates on the lens, but they all had the tendency to twist after prolonged use, due to the single attachment point. The raised lips on the rear of this plate fit snuggly into the back of the lens tripod foot (see photo) and prevent it from twisting. This plate is just long enough to allow balance to be achieved, when the lens is fully extended, on my Flex-line tripod head (and I'd guess gimbal styles too), by pulling the whole set up back to the front stop on the foot and tightening the head at that point. The only improvement I could suggest for the foot is a securing nut with a bigger tightening attachment/ring, to make it easier to hand-tighten; the one on the photo has been swapped over from another foot and is much easier to use than the ultra small one that is supplied. An excellent piece of kit, very cheaply priced, that removes some of the frustrations of the very poor design of the tripod foot on an otherwise cracking lens (Shame on you, Nikon!!)

Decent Arca Plate
This one looks to be well made with a pretty good surface finish. As far as compatibility goes, the dove tail should work with all screw type clamps. However if you have a Really Right Stuff lever clamp head it's a bit tight compared with an equivalent RRS plate but will lock down. Better that than loose but be advised you are putting a bit more pressure on your lever device.
