A Piece of Mine: Stories

Lovely book

I enjoyed reading these bite sized stories which fitted in nicely in my lunch breaks. What I loved most was knowing that I would know the ending of the story right away.

Good book so far. I have not finished all the short stories but what I have read of the book, I am pleased with.

La magie opère toujours avec J California Cooper, ces petites histoires sont autant de scenes de vie que de leçons sur la patience, la redemption et l'amour avec un grand A. on ne veut pas quitter ces femmes qui sortent toujours triomphante des ces situations incongrues dans lesquelles la vie s'acharne à vouloir les placer. Meme dans leurs tombes, elles parviennent à rendre a chacun selon leurs propres mots. Lisez vous ne serez pas déçu

I do not recall how I stumbled upon this book or author, though I am so very glad that I did. I am a southern guy and these stories are told so well and in such an authentic way that it makes me feel down home like I am sitting on the porch talking to one of my aunts. Some of the stories, especially the ones at the beginning were hard to read and I didn't like the theme of rape and violence, but it's life. The end of the book however is where the treasure lies. The free and the caged, Liberated and A jewel for a friend were such great stories to read!
