Must read to establish discipline, consistency and an open mind.
Great read for my internal conflicts and recklessness. I read the one-star reviews after purchasing and almost regretted buying the book based off of claims that he went on endless analogies, stories and repetitions. But after reading it, it was the best thing that I could have done for my journey. Multiple self destructive behaviors of mine were exposed and provided solutions. The analogies and stories are the most important takeaways from the book, and I feel like those who give it one stars expected him to give them some kind of edge or secret or crystal ball to trading. His analogies are direct and easily recognizable correlations between the market, the story he's telling and your emotions. For those whining about repetition, I feel like he's sowing the foundations for consistency. Goodluck on your journeys, and may the market gods be with you 😅

Would recommend for all traders.
Very insightful, would recommend this to new traders and those who have been trading for years as well. Really taps into the mindset of trading, not just the technicals.

Different, but Very Good
I could not disagree more with those who say this book is even slightly "over-rated". Admittedly, this book gets off to a slow start, and he is repetitive on some points ....but he is just laying the foundation for what is to come, and he really ties it all together in the 2nd half of the book. His writing seems a little too clinical when you first begin to read it, but the point he is making really starts coming home as you move through the book. He dissected my faulty thinking and attitudes like he was reading my mind. His "trader's mindset", the 4 primary trading fears, how these fears pervert our perception of the market because the fear itself becomes the object of our focus instead of the opportunities the market is presenting, how these fears cause us to fall into the same traps time after time (read the book, he explains it better), how the best traders not only accept the risk...they EMBRACE the risk, etc.. Great information. A point he makes that I have always known subconsciously, but never accepted because it contradicted what I had read in so many other trading books, was the fact that more or better market analysis is NOT the key to success, in fact, it can be a costly trap if you don't know its proper use and limitations. (Hmmm, how would I know this?) Market analysis, both fundamental and technical, have their place, but they are not crystal balls. When he describes the extent of information a trader must have and process before a trader can "know" what direction the market is going to move, you actually feel kind of silly for all the times you thought you "knew" what the market would do because of all the research and analysis you did, only to be proven wrong oh so many times! No obscure indicators here that claim to have the key to unlocking the secrets of the market, no making $2 million with a $1,000 investment, or similar garbage; rather a realistic look at yourself and your mental preparedness to trade. You will realize that if there is a "key" to success, it will not be found in complicated market indicators or in a sophisticated computer program, it will be found in your approach and attitude toward trading. This may sound simplistic, but don't lose too much money before you realize this is true. I loved Market Wizards (Cut Your Losses! Cut Your Losses! Cut Your Losses!) and Reminiscences, and recommend them, but Trading in the Zone and High Probability Trading and The Professional Commodity Trader have been the 3 most helpful trading books I have read.

The Book You Must Read Before Making Your Next Trade!
I thought I would take a moment to review one of my all time favorite t investment books, " Trading In The Zone", by Mark Douglas. This is actually the book that helped me start making money consistently in the markets. Before reading this book I was very inconsistent in making profitable trades. If you are like me, you may have some trading behaviors that you are not too proud of and have not served you well such as; getting in too early, getting out too late, being indecisive on if you should get in or stay out. Do you know what it feels like watching a profitable trade go down the drain because you did not exit when you should have? I have traded stocks, futures, forex, and options. The forex and futures markets can move so fast they can make your stomach turn. These markets are not for the faint of heart as they can beat a trader to near death and to the point where you will become afraid of your own shadow! I got my battle scars to prove it. This book definitely helped me get my trading act together to where I finally started making consistent profitable trades! It does not matter if you prefer fundamental or technical analysis, as this book focuses more on you the trader. It gives a great overview on why many traders consistently lose money while good traders consistently make profitable trades. More importantly, Trading In The Zone gives you the knowledge to replace fear with confidence in your trades and ability to make great trading decisions that will move you from the loosing group to the successful group of traders. I never make a trade without being in the zone! This book is worth every penny and makes for one of the best investments I have ever made. In fact, I have more than made my money back plus many thousands over from trading in the zone. Another easy and fun read that definitely took my trading game to the next level.

pycho-babble, wordy, and right on the money
The Author has some really vital information for you to understand, but the manner is which it is presented for you to consume is extremely slow. He takes you through a process of comparing pyschological mistakes to your own trading experiences, trading style, and trading plan and discusses psychologically "why" you do certain things. Many times through the book, I found myself laughing at the psycho-babble he professes. In my humble opinion, many ideas he postulates on are complete rubbish. Some of his logic is ..uuhh.. weak. For instance he goes into this reasoning of how ideas are energy, because they are intangible and some other reasons, and therefore subject to laws of energy as defined by Einstien. Whatever. Again IMHO, this kind of stuff is irrelevant. Unfortunately, why he is postulating in this manner is important and therin lies the value of this book. You do have expectations that you have learned throughout your lifetime and they affect you actions. When you are unaware, these expectations or learnings rise to the surface, often in ways that are harmful to traders. In general, he is trying to teach you to trade without fear but with discipline. These can be conflicting forces, and the Author guides you by telling you where troublesome feelings come from, how to understand them, and finally how to control them. My recommendation: Read the whole book, look past the psycho-babble, and follow the lessons he is teaching. If you have not yet performed his exercise at the end of the book - do it. If you are serious about trading you will benefit by it. Who am i? I have been trading actively for 3 years, most recently off 1 hour charts for trades lasting hours or days. I have progressed to this from trading daily charts. I have built a trading method with a strong positive expectancy. However my returns have been flat since I started trading, 3 years running. This book has immediately given me confidence, as it has reinforced ideas and methods that I have already adopted through my education. My results have been immediate and this book seems to be just the push that I needed to "open up" my trading. I am not afraid of entering a trade, and more importantly I am no longer afraid to exit a trade either.

Taking the EGO out of trading
What this book sets out to do is teach how to change from reactive, ego driven trading to trading in "The Zone" by using a preset system as opposed to trading based on your emotions and ego, which is very destructive to new traders. The book was a great complement to the other 20 trading books I have read. This one really drove home the importance of finding a system that works and then mechanically staying with it and not getting greedy or fearful and just start gambling. Your system should include stop losses to keep losses limited, when to take profits, and what indicators will give you entry and exit signals. This book is for traders that already understand the technical aspects of trading. The book focuses almost entirely on the beliefs and desires of traders that make them unsuccesful. The book recommends executing 20 trades using your system of choice in a purely mechanical fashion. This teaches discipline and takes out the guessing game. This gives you consistent casino odds as opposed to the odds of a gambler jumping randomly in and out of the market. The importance of working a consistent system is supported in almost all trading books. The 5 principles of thinking in probabilities 1. Anything can happen 2. You don't have to know what is going to happen next in order to make money. 3. There is a random distribution between wins and losses for any given set of variables that define an edge. 4. An edge is nothing more than an indication of a higher probability of one thing happening over another. 5. Every moment in the market is unique. I am a consistent winner because: 1. I objectively identify my edges. 2.I predefine the risk of every trade. 3. I completely accept the risk or I am willing to let go of the trade. 4. I act on my edges without reservation or hesitation. 5. I pay myself as the market makes money available to me. 6. I continually monitor my susceptability for making errors. 7. I understand the absolute necessity of these principles of consistent success and, therefore, I never violate them. This review can not do enough justice to this book, buy it, read it.

Take the lessons, do the work, this will change your life.
Following the teachings of this book definitely made me a better, more profitable trader. More importantly, it made me a better human being. Learning to follow a plan and place trades without expectations translates to every interaction in the rest of your life. Learning this way of thinking entails learning what I would describe as a very Zen way of thinking. As you learn and incorporate it into your trading plan it can't not affect the way you think about everything else in your life. Easily one of the top ten most important books I have ever read. Buy it. Read it. Live it. Your trading account, and your life, will be so much better for it. Only If you put in the work, exercise the discipline, to implement these ideas in your life. If you can take the ideas and do the work this book will change your life.

Önemli bir kitap
Anlattıkları bence önemli. Biraz fazla soyut kalsa da piyasada uyulması çok önemli hususlar. Ancak aynı şeyleri bu kadar çok tekrarlamasa çok daha iyi olurdu.
