Weak return spring
Worked the first two times I used it, then stuck in the closed position. Tapping it with a wrench seems to allow it to return to its normally open position, but who wants to have to tap it every time they use it? I am very disappointed with this product. Another minor irritation is that there was no documentation with it. It turns out that the case does not ground it, so you have to connect a ground wire to the right hand front stud in order for it to operate. Took me a needless few minutes to get that worked out, but not a serious issue. Sticking in the closed position is.

Craftsman Lawn Tractor Starter Solenoid
replaced the OEM starter solenoid on my 1985 Craftsman lawn tractor with this piece. Although slightly different in appearance, this piece will physically fit with no modification required. This new solenoid also requires that you fabricate a short wire to ground the second electrical connection point on the solenoid. The positive terminal is well marked with a +12V. Simply attach a 3” piece of #14 (#16 may be OK) to the terminal and ground the other end. Solenoid is supplied with new hardware for the battery cable connection studs.

Poor terminals that strip
Pretty simple part, universal fit was good. The copper terminals are rather cheap and stripping of the threads occurred for me. The tightening pressure I gave it was nothing crazy.

Works fine.
Works fine. No indication of pos/neg post for activating the solenoid. Not sure if it matters either way, I think I connected it properly the first time by chance.

Bad one
These things are usually pretty reliable there isn't much to them. But the one I received suck close the first time I used it. Sent it back.

Inexpensive universal solenoid
Works great. Used on 2 different mowers. An old riding mower and a newer zero turn. Holding up amazingly.

This has outlasted the original style and was pretty easy to wire in
I wired this into a cheap tao tao / coolster style Chinese 4 wheeler because the plug in replacements were only lasting a few months. This has outlasted the original style and was pretty easy to wire in.
