The magnetic brake helps control casting, but it still needs tuning. Start with higher brake and tighter spool tension, then loosen gradually as your thumb control improves. **Q: How much line should I spool?** A: Do not overfill the spool. Leave a small gap below the spool lip and keep tension while spooling, which helps prevent line climbing, backlash, and lockups during casts. **Q: Which gear ratio should I pick?** A: Choose 6.6:1 for slower baits, crankbaits, and more control. Choose 8.1:1 for faster line pickup with jigs, frogs, worms, and topwater techniques. **Q: How can I keep it smooth?** A: Rinse lightly after dirty or wet trips, dry the reel, and add proper reel oil when needed. Regular care helps reduce gear noise and keeps retrieve smoother over time. ## Frequently Bought Together - Piscifun Torrent II Baitcasting Fishing Reel, 20LB Carbon Fiber Drag Baitcasters, 6.6:1/8.1:1 Gear Ratio & Magnet Braking System Low Profile Casting Reel, Left/Right Handed - Piscifun Torrent Fishing Rod, IM6 Carbon Baitcaster & Spinning Rod, High Sensitive Lightweight Fishing Casting Rod, Zirconium Oxide Rings, 2 Pieces Rod - Reaction Tackle Braided Fishing Line - Pro Grade Power Performance for Saltwater or Freshwater Fish - Colored Fishing Line Braid for Extra Visibility --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/459905585-piscifun-torrent-ii-baitcasting-reel-20lb-drag-magnetic-brake](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/459905585-piscifun-torrent-ii-baitcasting-reel-20lb-drag-magnetic-brake) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
