I didn't think this would work, but the reviews were compelling. I am a mosquito /biting insect magnet. I am often covered in bug bites and miserable. I have tried so many different things, most don't help. I figured if this worked as well as everyone said it would, it would be worth it. I think it's a bit on the pricey side and I don't like that you have to download an app to use it. However, surprisingly it does work reasonably well. You plug it into your phone, it heats up based on settings in the app, and you apply to the bug bite. The heat helps the bug bite not itch as bad. Sometimes I have to apply multiple times, but it does alleviate the itching. It doesn't take it away completely, but it makes it more bearable and prevents scratching your skin. The app settings are for children or adults, and it has 3 settings for heat intensity (low, med, high). I have only used the low and medium adult intensity settings. It's the best solution I have found for bug bites. I do wonder, as phone upgrades are needed, will they continue to provide compatible apps so I can keep using it? Will I have to buy a new "heat-it" to be compatible? If I will be able to use this long term then it's a great purchase, worth the price, and I am happy - so with cautious optimism I gave it 5 stars. If it quickly becomes incompatible due to the app - then I will be disappointed. Something to consider if you buy this.

I am currently being eaten alive by either bed bugs or fleas. Waiting for the exterminator to determine. But apparently I might be allergic. The bites swell up and about a day or 2 later hurts like crazy. Not itches - just hurts. For quite a few days. I’ve tried bug bite topical treatments (that typically work - at least for mosquito or spider bites), I’ve tried vinegar, I even tried topical lidocaine. Nothing works longer than an hour. This works. I have no clue how and I don’t care. It works. It’s very pricey and worth every cent in my opinion.

As mosquito bait with a mild bite allergy, I was eager to try a similar (but much less convenient) device back in the aughts. The science is interesting, and in practice the thing seems to work. For me, it effectively condense two weeks of violent itching and swelling into a couple of really intense 30 secondses and a week of small welts. After a couple of treatments, with maybe one more the next day, the itching goes away and I'm much less likely to swell up like a balloon. Spouse also finds it useful though less dramatic. Since he otherwise scratches himself bloody, I bring this thing pretty much everywhere. (The sooner you apply it, the more effective it is.) For a miracle, the software pairs well with my phone and is pretty brain dead to operate. Make sure to pair it before you go backpacking so you aren't trying to download the app in the middle of the woods. It doesn't eat much phone battery. It comes with a kid/low pain tolerance setting that I haven't had much use for, but is nice if you have delicate skin or just aren't up to cooking your arm in one go. Money well spent. Honestly, my only problem with this thing is that it's so tiny that I have to keep it in a zipper pocket of my first aid roll so I don't lose it and I'm always worried I'll drop or lose the cap.

I was very skeptical but hate chemicals, so why not give it a try. It arrives in a respectable size box, so you're not prone to losing it (yet). Once out of the box, it gets lost quickly, I ended up with clipping it to a "remove before takeoff" flag so it would stand out more. So, careful, it gets lost easily. As for effectiveness, it heats up quickly and goes on easy. I find I have to use two applications on the same bite, and after that, I'm not thinking of the bite. Great relief. Doesn't seem to affect the battery of the phone. I just hope I don't lose it.

I bought this before a trip to Albania where the mosquitos, I expected, would completely eat me alive--and indeed they did. I have never been so happy to burn myself in my life. This got the itch away so nicely and I found myself going to it over and over again. The only thing is that because I had it on my keys, which I was sharing with other people, at some point it fell off, perhaps in somebody else's bag. So, I lost my heat it, but I will be purchasing again. There is a sensitive option for somebody with low pain tolerance, as well as in option for children, all on the app. It also opens the app immediately when you plug it into your phone, making it super easy to use.

This does not heal the bite faster, but it does significantly reduce the itch… and less scratching leads to faster healing. Bought for my son and I for a tropical trip. Wife used it so much I bought her one too. And there’s just something satisfying about the heated application. Totally worth it, and would replace if lost. I rarely review, but wanted to for this.

Tried over, & over several times & it didn’t work. I even got my techi son to help me with it, but with no luck. I then applied for a refund.

As someone that gets bug bites frequently I was hopeful and skeptical. Now after treating my first bug bite I am relieved of the itching and so happy. I treated my bite twice- I didn’t feel the treatment on the lowest setting and honestly barely felt the treatment after increasing the intensity. This will be a game changer for me and my summer enjoyment! Thanks for a wonderful product.

My grandfather used to put spit or mud on his bug bites. Meanwhile, I am sitting on my porch, using a high-tech microprocessor powered by a $1,200 smartphone to thermally neutralize local insect saliva at a molecular level. The mosquitoes think they own the yard, but they didn’t account for me weaponizing my phone charger against their digestive enzymes. A massive victory for cybernetic humanity.

This product is amazing! I am allergic to all insect and spider bites and react so badly with constant itching and pain. I have tried numerous anti itch creams but this is by far the best solution so far! Thank you I love it!!

This really does work, however I have found a tin to keep it in as I was continually losing it otherwise.

Arrived in open packaging and looked like it may have been used prior. I downloaded the application and plugged in the bite healer, but the application is not recognizing that bite healer was plugged into my phone. Therefore, not able to get it to heat up and it is not working. When I went to return it, I then noticed it was not eligible for return. A seller that does not accept returns is NOT a seller that stands behind their products, in my opinion. I contacted Amazon directly and Amazon was able to make it right. I would not order from this seller again.
