Diffuser Mosquito Repellent

No buzz really does work! Here in Florida anything that works this well is a shock. I spend a lot of time on the pool deck (10 hours) a day and get maybe 2 bites a week with the No Buzz. There are many places that sell this on Amazon for twice as much as this company does, don't be fooled, it is exactly the same product. I'm still using the original inserts, so they last at least a month each! Battery operation works but adapter puts out way more power. AAA+++

The item arrived on time and was nicely packaged, but it was grey instead of the white shown in the picture.I placed it on my nightstand a few hours before bed and turned it on, setting the diffuser to the maximum setting (my bedroom is not very big, about 10x10). When I got into bed I couldn't smell anything but assumed the scent was too faint for me to catch. Well, that's what I thought, until the mosquitoes started dive-bombing me. So I placed the diffuser right next to my head in the hopes that mosquitoes would be put off by the diffuser enough to let me sleep. After the third or so mosquito tried its turn at the mambo on my forehead, I gave up the fight and switched back to the diffuser candle whose cartridge is almost out, but which works enough to let me sleep.Don't waste your money. Seriously.

The device seems to be working well. It takes 3 AA batteries to run the fan that distributes the repellent. But it also has a power input port so you can add a 4.5v 100mA power adapter if you want, and then not have to use batteries. The repellent comes in the form of a round disc of goo inside an aluminum shell. It is sealed in a separate plastic envelope, and smells a bit like geraniums or citronella. To place the disc inside the diffuser, you raise the lid on top, which lifts up an attached internal tray. You place the disc on the tray then lower and latch the lid. Turn the diffuser (a motorized fan) on by flipping the on/off switch, and adjust a slider to regulate the amount of repellent being diffused. I am happy with this device overall, though I would have preferred a different color. The one in the Amazon ad is white, whereas the one I received is a minty green color that doesn't blend in with the decor at all.

I generally am not bothered by mosquitos, but they feast on my wife. She tried using this while sitting out back on our deck. It didn't seem to make any difference...she was still continuously bitten. However, the one we received was white as advertised.

And it doesn't produce smoke or a weird smell, the way citronella candles do. When you're having dinner on your patio, you don't want smoke in your face or off odors, and this produces a mild, citrus-type scent. The only thing I would suggest is a light to show that it's on - I forget and leave it running at times because it's so quiet.

I bought this last summer when I was potty training my dog. I kept getting bit on my legs by mosquitoes while sitting at a small bistro table waiting for her to do her business. I bought this and put it on the table (which has holes in it btw), and I got bit just as much. It's possible that I didn't use it long enough for the stuff to disperse into the air.. I used it for 15-20 minutes at a time, but there's nothing in the description to make me think there's a minimum run time for it to work.

The product arrived without the discs. I can't tell you how well it works because I don't have the scent discs. I can tell you that the company ignored my complaint and I wasted my money on this product.
