* Setup is a nightmare, although the WebUI is usable it’s very unpolished and glitchy, pages often load unfinished and spelling errors cast a lot of doubts making it look like a beta product. * Don’t even try the app, it’s too slow, buggy and not usable, it’s simply an unfinished product * Once set up from the webUI, the app is not able to pick up the equipment — it’s not able to find the already joined WIFI network, seriously CISCO? * Range is very limited * The mesh extender and/or the AP drops WiFi frequently despite trying all the different settings * There is no support from Cisco except a community forum, even though directly bought from Amazon * The mounting bracket is poorly designed and sticks out from one side once fitted onto the unit Very disappointed as had high expectations of Cisco.

Having replaced an existing access point which was AC to this Cisco AX unit, I cannot recommend this for home and it’s really frustrating to setup. - It really does take a 5 whole minutes to reboot (why, just why!?) - Management doesn’t give easy way to reduce radio transmission power - VLANs just didn’t work - Uses VRRF so issues with Draytek with a workaround - Firmware can ONLY be upgraded via web, no CLI option (bit daft if trying to troubleshoot the web GUI itself) - Won’t broadcast any SSID setup if it cannot detect internet access (the main reason I returned this because it doesn’t work) Avoid unless you have Cisco controllers or don’t want to tweak your network.

Reasonable performance; took way too much effort to setup and configure successfully.

I originally purchased this product to install on my existing home network where I did not have PoE switch/router. Good thing I thought this item comes with poe injector so that you can use it on a non poe device on the network. I could not get it to work until I replaced my Cisco non poe switch with a poe switch. If you are thinking to purchase this item because it comes with the injector don't. you will be wasting your money and time searching for solutions that does not exist.

So many issues. Support is terrible, videos make it all sound super easy but the reset button simply doesn't work. I've tried a million combinations but it wont reset to factory settings and now does DHCP an IP and I basically can't connect it. The fact that Cisco publish two different ways to reset the device says it all really. It's my second Cisco access point and it will be my last. Hours spent fannying around with it trying to get it to reset.

I didn't purchase the device(s) here, but felt the two reviews at the time don't do this device justice. Firstly, the market for budget WiFi 6 APs is competitive. Netgear offer good options and Aruba is a better option if you have the extra cash. I bought this because all my infrastructure is Cisco and I know what I'm getting. Set-up isn't too bad, it might be frustrating if you're a home user, but as someone used to these devices the slow boot isn't anything particularly annoying. I have the network backed up with UPS and battery power so can weather a few hours without power... Hopefully no downtime until I update it lol Setting up with a DrayTek router is not at all an issue. You have to change one setting, which Cisco provides a document for. Overall, at its price point this access point is solid. Cisco also have one of the better support communities should you have trouble. The antennae aren't the greatest but again I'm not complaining at this price point. Coverage is wide and I have no issue buying another one if it's ever needed. If you had a more urban environment and wanted more hardy signals, OR like the reviewer before me don't like the 5 minute boot time. Aruba Instant-On are my favourite access points with the CBW coming in second.
