The difference is significant. The Firepit rocker has better upholstery. HOWEVER, the Firepit rocker is noticeably LOWER than the Freestyle rocker. So, for around the campfire, you want the Firepit Rocker. But, for watching sporting events or most activities where you want more of a chair, go with the Freestyle Rocker. This is an outstanding rocker with an easy motion. It is the best of both worlds. The shock absorbers on the back legs keep it smooth and easy allowing for a gentle rocking motion But when you want the chair to "act" like a chair, such as at a table, the front legs are fixed, so you can stop the forward motion without the chair continuing to tilt forward.
