These are extremely gentle which is nice for your gums. However I'm used to a bit stiffer brush for cleaning the grooves in my teeth. If I had something like candy or nuts in my teeth I might need to go over with stiffer brush. If these were firmer in the center they could be for cleaning but still gentle around the edges for your gums.
