Hogue HandAll Beavertail Rubber Grip Sleeve for S&W Shield 9/40, Ruger LC9 / EC9, Black - 18400

I often fit Hogue grips to my smaller handguns to accommodate my large hands, get a better grip and bring my trigger finger rearwards a little for improved ergonomics. This one met my needs yet again on the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0..I have developed the technique to install these in less than 30 secs....1) Heat the grip up in a cup of boiling water for a couple minutes2) Spray ammonia-free glass cleaner on the handgun's grip3) Spray glass cleaner inside the Hogue grip4) Place the beavertail side onto the gun's grip, then insert the handle of a teaspoon in the front edge of the Hogue grip and push it through and lever up onto the gun grip5) Lever the teaspoon forward to stretch the Hogue grip onto the gun's grip at the front bottom edge, and slide the grip along the spoon handle until it's well on the lower portion of the gun's grip.6) Work the Hogue onto the gun's grip and retract the spoon, leaving the rubber on the grip.7) Slide the Hogue all the way up onto the grip until it is fully seated, using thumb and palm action.8) Wipe down the assembly and let everything dry under the Hogue grip..The fit is perfect on the BG 2.0 and the grip is now more full. I can get a more comfortable grip on the gun and no hand slippage under operation.Highly recommended!

Hogue grips are excellent, there’s no question to how well they are made or about their functionality. I want to provide some insight on my experience with placing this on my Bodyguard 2.0. I’m not sure if I like it or not for the BG2.0 because without the grip, the handle is smooth so to speak on the front under the trigger guard, and the guard itself has a good cut out (or indentation) for your middle finger. I can get three fingers on the handle and I have large hands, though my pinky is not fully seated up on the handle, it’s seated enough I consider it a full grip. When I put the hogue on the handle, all of this changed, primarily because there is a bump out on the grip, separating the middle finger from the ring finger. This essentially pushes the ring finger down and therefore pushes my pinky down, causing my pinky to no longer be able to fully grip the handle. Now it has to sit underneath the mag, or I can place it on the handle and obtain about a 50% grip as the bottom of the handle now rests about half way into the width of my finger. Again I don’t know if I like it because while the hogue adds texture, a wider grip, and ultimately a better placement of the middle and ring fingers, pushing my pinky off the grip makes me feel like I’m holding an LCP, one of the exact reasons as to why I went out and spent $400 on the BG2.0. Aside from this, it took me less than five minutes to slip it on without any sort of magical techniques that people seem to go on about, and I’m still giving it 5 stars because Hogue makes a terrific aftermarket grip, regardless of my experience with this particular model.

The grip frame was too slim for me to accurately shoot. After installing the hogue sleave, it was a little thicker andhad a palm swell as an added improvement. This greatly improved my accuracy.

I do not normally take the time for reviews. But this item is fantastic. I put it on my bodyguard 2.0. No more sliding around in your hand gives you a good firm grip. Outstanding. A little hard to get on. I used a small amount of soap on the inside, a heat gun set at no more than 200° do not overheat it or the polymer gun grip. Took about a 10 minutes.

It fits very well, but it's going to test your patience level. It's sure to be much less than you thought you had.

Grip is just as described. I purchased to cover the rough grip. Once I got the product installed it was great. HOWEVER the reviews that talk about how difficult it is to install are not an exaggeration. Be sure to soften the product in very warm water and be patient. It’s worth the hassle!

Totally love this thing on my ec9s. Makes a huge difference to how it fits in my hand. Has a good feel to it now that the grip is a little wider and made of rubber. Doesn’t look half bad either so that’s a plus. They should really just throw something lite this in when you buy a gun this small for guys like myself with larger hands. A little force needed to get it on but you know it’s on there good. I didn’t need anything to lube it up, just used my hands and a little patience. Shouldn’t have to say it but please make sure your gun isn’t loaded before you put this on it.Anyway, I totally recommend this for anyone with a similar edc.
