Pre De Provence Zodiac Tin Bar Soap, Libra, 100 Gram

Measuring 2 1/2 x 2 3/4 x 1 inches this bar is French made shea butter enriched quad milled soap. It produces a rich lather and is lightly scented. The Libra zodiac sign is embossed on the soap which is wrapped in cellophane and contained in a two piece tin decorated with a stylized graphic representing the sign. The fragrance is subtle – a combination of woodsy, citrus and floral. The intensity is not overpowering and the scent is suitable for all.Quad milled means that it goes through the milling process four times. Since most high-quality soap is triple milled, this brand takes additional time to blend ingredients and remove excess water and air along with impurities. This creates create a compressed smooth product that lathers well and does not melt into a gummy mess as it sits in a soap dish. The process extends the longevity and quality. The shea butter included in this mild soap helps hydrate the skin. The product is also paraben-free and the company does no animal testing.

I really liked the tin and the idea behind this, but unfortunately I think there must be patchouli or something in here that I just really didn't like. The soap and the gift presentation were all high quality and everything was great, but the fragrance just really wasn't for me.

The tin is 3” x 3” x 1 ½”, and the 2 ½” x 2 5/8” x 1” cellophane-wrapped soap fits inside snuggly.An observation: While I can call these tins “colorful”, and can attest to the fine detail of the artwork and see that all the colors are registered perfectly on the tin’s lid, I must say that the tins I received were not at all as vibrantly colored as what shows on this product page. Colors on most of the tins I received are more pastel or a bit washed out compared to what appears here.On the back of each tin you will find the calendar dates for the corresponding zodiac sign, but that does not help you pick it out here, does it? No. And that is a fault of this product page. If you don’t know them, it is easy to find the info online.Another fault: The tins do not describe the fragrance of the soap inside. It is not done here on the product page, and there is no inkling of essential oils used for each zodiac soap on the tin either. On the other hand, maybe it is not that important to know the exact fragrance combinations—they are all very nice. While the fragrances are potent, and the scents are very strong in the tin as you lift the lid and sniff, none of them are overpowering as you wash. It is bright, and a touch floral, but not perfume-y at all. But the simple descriptions that I've been able to garner from online searching, really don't provide that much insight. I'd like to know the basic essential oils used in each soap.These soaps are quad-milled and contain shea butter. What’s amazing to me is that each tin has a totally different fragrance. The soaps are either white or a creamy beige color and distinguished by their embossed zodiac sign. Each is 100g and is shaped to fit in the palm of one’s hand. Its small size is more suited to hand washing, but would still work nicely as bathing soap for an overnight or weekend stay or week vacation.Lovely creamy, rich lather that glides over the skin leaving it soft and silky. Fragrance lasts for a short while.

I don't know which I like better, the tin or the soap but I really like both. I was able to try several different types of this soap and this one is by far my favorite. The aroma of this one is just wonderful and not too overpowering. Somehow it reminds of a smell from childhood. It's so nice to use in the shower; it's very smooth and soft and the aroma is very refreshing. It left my skin feel soft but not greasy. I'm waiting to see how it feels after using it several weeks because someone mentioned that it dried out her skin. It is true that no film is left and the skin feels smooth but a little on the dry side.I had been using soaps sold at Whole Foods for years which are also made in France but are more expensive. I like this one better. It will remain to be see if the longevity is as good as the description says. Will definitely reorder this one! It makes a beautiful gift or stocking stuffer combined with some exfoliating gloves or a nice sponge, etc.The soap is free of Parabens, Ethyl Alcohol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and has not been tested on Animals!

The soap was nice. I used it a long time ago. I remember it smelled great. I still have the box. I love this little metal box. I think it's just the cutest thing. It's in a display case with some other treasures. It's just something I like.

Great scent and quality ingredients with the added pedigree of being from Provence. The packaging is Great! The whimsical depiction of astrological themes makes this a perfect birthday gift for people interested in the mystical, and the motif continues on the actual soap bar, which is cool. Quality soap in a collector's tin that can be reused for many things, this is a very nice birthday gift!

Cute tin, nice smelling soap. The fragrance isn't overwhelming and the quality of the soap is in line with other Pre De Provence products I've tried. When the soap is all used up, you get a little tin to store small items, like buttons, paperclips, pushpins, or maybe your children's teeth (why do us moms need to keep the kids' baby teeth?!).As a Libra myself (and yes, my birthday is right around the corner!), I was amused by the description of the fragrance: graceful floral. Are Libras supposed to be graceful and floral? I am certainly not graceful. What does it mean to be floral? I can't grow flowers, so it definitely does not equate to a green thumb. If I continue to use this soap, will I become more graceful and floral? One can only hope.Astrological musings aside, this is a good soap which feels like it rinses clean and doesn't seem drying. Two thumbs up from this Libra.
