Dimensions are perfect, and it’s shipped great! I love the two pack option so I only have to remind myself to order one once a year rather than twice. The arrows on the side are helpful for me to remember which way it’s inserted. The filter fits perfectly in the unit!

The Honeywell product exceeded my expectations which made my purchase a delectational and therapeutic experience!

When we moved into our house, it was mid-July and almost 100°F and the combination was enough to cause us to blow a capacitor on the a/c unit. That provided a good chance to check the filter and put a new one into the unit. We have an attic furnace and it is horizontal, which actually makes the filter door easy to access. As you can see from the pictures, the Honeywell filter fits perfectly. We have tried others, but the ones from the closest competitor are actually too big for this slot and their "slim" size wobbles and flaps around. So, yes, the manufacturer recommendation is there for a reason because the Honeywell is easy to slide in and fills the space nicely. It even has a little tab to make pulling it out easier. Since Covid lockdown started (8 March 2020 for us), I have changed it every 3 months because everyone is home all the time. You can go longer, with the a/c guys saying 6 months. top tip: do it when you change the clocks. The merv rating is 11 and that is sufficient for home use. You can get a higher rating depending on your own needs, but check the charts and the air handler specs because a higher merv also means reduced air flow. This one seems just right and the handy multi-packs are very convenient. 5 stars.

We thought we had seen on the page a 5” version of the filter: which is what we believed we ordered. . A 4” version arrived.Reading the technical literature as well as speaking to a Lennox representative the 4” will function just fine for us.The rating on a MERV scale for 4” v. 5” thick is so close for our need the narrower thickness will serve us well.
