Very Happy with the performance
I was looking at all the available options for a portable pit here on Amazon. I came across this one and saw it was a new offering with only a small amount off reviews. I can't speak as far as a direct comparison of the other more expensive units. But, this one has really met my hopes! This one has a 10' hose, thats a plus. (I saw a few with only 6 feet of hose) This one comes with a lid, thats a plus. It comes with a nice little handle that holds the lid on nice and tight. that's a plus. It comes with a small steel ring that you can set your propane tank on so it sits nice and steady, that's a plus. It has a nice big Knob that feels good and sturdy while starting, and adjusting the flame. Another plus. And it has a fairly sturdy bag to put it all in. (that alone for another brand pit is 40 bucks)I'm not sure about a review above that said "good luck getting it to fit in the bag" I have no idea what went wrong there, but rest assured it all fit perfectly. This unit may not be what you're looking for if you're trying to keep a big party of people warm. But This was used between a couple beach chairs with just me and my honey. it was on the lowest setting and putting off a nice flame and decent warmth. You could crank it up and have a good size flame, and a good size circle of people enjoying the glory of this unit.We used it four nights averaging around 2 hours a night and the gauge on my propane tank still never hit the "yellow" I'd say it's pretty fuel efficient.A con or 2. It for sure would be nice to have an electric start button, but overall not a deal breaker. Like another review pointed out, it does seem to be hard to get a nice small easy ignition. by the time you turn the gas on the lowest setting and reach in there to light it, it will get a good little "aggressive ignition". .. . .(for lack of a better term) But again. . Not anything to panic or worry about. One last thing. When you open the bags of lava rocks (they're marked clearly which one to put 1st, 2nd, and so on) Take the time to scoop out the smaller ones by hand, and set them in as well as the bigger and bigger ones. I only suggest this from my experience. I tore the 1st bags open and just dumped them in... tons of dust everywhere, and I mean everywhere. I had to get my compressor and blow dust out of the pit all over my yard for like 3 minutes :) . . .Oh, and give the fittings a check with a wrench.. .I was able to snug up the fittings just a bit. .Buy this pit and enjoy.Wish I took more pictures. This is one of the few I have

Sunward! More Features For Less Money!
I did gobs of research! Sunward is the best deal for a high quality portable propane fire pit! It's got all the same features as the more well known brands, but it's a bit bigger than some of them and it costs less because it includes some stuff that the other brands charge extra for. It has a very sturdy lid and a carrying strap. The strap requires a little effort to get it fastened on the first time. The straps need to stretch a bit for a tight fit. It also has 10 ft gas line, a propane tank stand/ring (so the tank won't tip over) an extra bag of lava rocks, and a really nice heavy-duty, canvas, carrying case. It encloses the whole fire pit. Very nice! The case is a must have if you're going to transport it and for storage. The only thing it doesn't have is an automatic spark ignitor. No biggy. Just light it close to where the gas first goes into the fire ring. Otherwise the whole ring fills up with gas and you'll get a fairly dramatic start....which I think is kind of fun, unless my eyebrows are burnt off! Haha! When it arrives, do not unpack it in the house! Do it in the lawn. The lava rocks are in flimsy bags and the rocks make everything very dusty. I emptied each bag of lava rocks outside into a spaghetti strainer/colander and shook the rocks up. Gobs of dust came wafting off! Our fire pit came with the bottom protector plate unscrewed and the bolt and plate spacer cup loose inside the box. It was easy to put back on. Just be sure to carefully check for that nut and bolt when you're unpacking it. Check all the fittings. Easy peasy! We fired it up! Ahhh...so cozy warm! You could use this camping or anywhere you want a warm welcoming fire. We love it!

Perfect for Fire Restricted Camping!!
We camp a lot, and being in AZ there are a lot of fire restrictions. We received our Sunward outdoor fire pit in 2 days in time for camping. it was so easy to put together. Everything was labeled. it made a warm fire with no smoke. It made golden brown s'mores. When it was time for bed, no need to douse it in water, just shut it off and put the lid on. We loved the carrying bag, and that they supplied an extra bag of the rocks. it produced a nice warmth. I had called the forest service and as long as we had it sitting in a 3 ft area with no combustible material it met the criteria to be able to use it.***5/30/2018 After owning our fire pit for a year, just wanted to update our review: WE LOVE IT EVEN MORE! this past memorial day weekend, we camped in Northern AZ. The nights were in the 40's. Our friends had purchased fire pits as well, since AZ has fire bans in effect. Our pit looked the best and put out the most heat. One of the other ones smelled like propane. Everyone asked for the link to this one. Thank you Sunward for such a great product!!! (I am inserting a new pick that shows ours next to the other smaller ones. Trust me, spend the money and get this one, you won't be disappointed!)

Decent unit - requires separate igniter
After a smoke filled camping trip using wood for the fire pit, I decided to jump ahead and buy a propane fire pit. While I have nothing to compare this to, it checks out everything I was looking for EXCEPTING a built in igniter. Oh, well. I suppose you can't expect everything. But it has a gas hose that is sufficiently long, comes with lid/nylon cover/carrying straps, and some decent/light lava stones and burns well. As one other reviewer pointed out, do check the fittings and make sure they are tight before you start using it - in our case the hose end hooked to the unit was loose.

Just the right fit
I was a bit hesitant when the product was delivered because it wasn’t quite what I wanted. I wanted the bowl that used the small propane that screwed in the bottom. I wanted to send both back immediately (I ordered two) but my husband wanted to set it up just to see if it’s a good fit. I’m so glad we did. They look so beautiful on the tables and give off more heat that the original one I wanted. I am very satisfied and know I made a great purchase.
