Favorite Ending Of The Series
You can find many more reviews like this one on my blog The Dancing Nerd Writes Again.Initial Thoughts:It seems like all I've been reading lately are the last books in a series. Typical me, I put it off as long as possible.Spoilers!Throughout this series there have been so many different story lines which kept me interested and reading each new book. Cruz writes from the perspective of a few different characters in this book and for once I didn't mind. By now I've come to love all the characters so much I genuinely wanted to hear their stories individually.I did wish that I had read her spin off books, Wolf Pact and Witches of the East End before I read this last book so that I had some more background knowledge on the new characters we are introduced to.To my displeasure, we don't get to see a lot of Jack and Schuyler. I can only recall one or two scenes where they are together. However, Cruz made up for it with the scenes involving Bliss and her new wolf friend. I don't want to say much more about this because I want you all to be as surprised (and slightly confused) as I was. Another way Cruz makes up for the lack of Schuyler and Jack are the scenes with Mimi and Kingsley. I love the relationship these two characters have together, and they are put through some series tests in this last book. The more I write about the different characters the more I realize how much I love them all. Of course I don't want to leave out Oliver, who in my opinion has the coolest name in the series (Oliver Hazard-Perry). And oh my gosh! The ending for him is fabulous. I think I've secretly wanted that to happen for him since I started reading this series. Spot on Melissa De La Cruz. Spot on.Like I mentioned earlier, each character is on a different mission but they all have the same goal in mind. The conclusion of this novel brought every story line together effortlessly and seamlessly. I really wasn't sure how Cruz would tie up almost ten different character plots, but she made it work.Did I cry reading the ending? Yes, yes I did. Did I cry reading the last four pages? You have no idea. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to a series I've been a fan of since I was 15. I was and am so sad to see it go, but so happy for all the characters. I can't wait to read the spin off series that have been created (as mentioned above). Conclusion:I definitely felt all the feels at the end of this book (series). I read the book in one sitting and enjoyed every second. Although I enjoyed this book, it wasn't my favorite from this series. I claim in my review of Lost In Time (book #6) that it is my favorite book of the Blue Bloods series and after finishing Gates of Paradise that ruling stands. In the beginning of the series, I absolutely hated Mimi Force. Now she is one of my favorite characters. She has developed and grown so much and I just...ekkk love her! The same is true for all the characters. They have all easily become my favorite, a phenomenon that I haven't experienced since reading Harry Potter or The Inheritance Series.I would recommend this book only if you've read the other six. That's a little end of the series humor for you. But seriously, I'd recommend this book to people who like vampires, and not your traditional vampires either, but vampires that cycle through lifetimes instead of retaining one body for eternity. I'd also suggest this book to someone who likes New York, fashion, traveling, some adventure and some pretty legit fight scenes.Rating:4.5/5 stars

The end?!
Gates of Paradise is the final novel in Melissa de la Cruz's original Blue Bloods series. There have been so many twists and turns, crosses and double crosses in the series so far that I've been dying to get my hands on this book to finally find out what would happen in the end.The book felt like a finale right from the start. It's told in the usual Blue Bloods style with chapters narrated and focussing on different key characters (in this case, Schuyler, Mimi, Bliss and Tomasia in the main). I loved that Melissa de la Cruz had the girls in the lead and generally responsible for saving the world!Cruz does a brilliant job of recapping key details and bringing the threads of the whole Blue Bloods story so far, together including the events of spin-off novels Wolf Pact and The Witches of the East. I enjoyed reminiscing with the characters as they remembered the events of previous books and by the final pages I felt that everything had been tied up quite neatly. As with all of the Blue Bloods novels, the story has great pace and maintains the mystery right to the end. There are some excellent twists and surprises in Gates of Paradise as Schuyler finds out the truth about her family at last and Bliss fulfils the destiny that's been hinted at for a long time. I'm not one for big battle scenes so I'm glad the scenes at the end were short and snappy and moved quickly on to what happened next to the key characters. With a massive final twist that I would never have predicted, I was pleased to see my own favourite character getting the ending they deserved! Melissa has now said that this is the final novel in the first cycle of the Blue Bloods series which suggests we'll see more from the Blue Bloods in future - yay!

Slightly dissapointed
After picking up the first book in the series 2 years ago, I have been avidly anticipating each and every book. And so when Gates of Paradise, the final in the blue blood series, came out I jumped at the opportunity to finally finish the mystery surrounding the battle between heaven and hell.I must admit I was disappointed with the end of the book. It felt rushed as all of a sudden everything started happening at once! But the thing I am most disappointed in is that there was very little description about after the battle. Although it was nice to learn about what happened to the characters in the years after, it seems like a bit of an easy ending and I am still left with questions that have been unanswered. The series is fantastic and definitely a must read but it helps to read the books several times so you have all the details, as things can get a little bit confusing!

Tied up storyline well.
Author has done well to tie up all the story lines. Wasn't sure how this was going to end, but pleasantly surprised that all main points got covered. Only setback for me was some of the secondary story lines were not given as much space to tie up, with some of our beloved characters only given a few sentences on how their story ended.

Good read.
I enjoyed this series, but at the beginning of this book I felt I was missing something as I believe there is another book about Bliss and the werewolves that I have not read. Saying that it didn't stop me from following the plot and coming to a happy ending.
