After cleaning up the slot with an abrasive-wrapped stick, the cauls fit snugly. The radii on the cauls are accurate. I wish the grooves in the cauls were a bit wider and deeper. Aligning each fret under the caul is a bit slow and fiddly. Anyway, it works fine for my low volume build and repair work. I like that this tool comes with so many different radii. It covers any neck I am likely to work on.

This is definitely not my first choice of a tool to refret a guitar with, but it definitely works. I use this to fix unlevel frets getting them as close as possible to the perfect height before level sanding when doing a fret job. If you're replacing all your frets there are much better and easier tools for that job. It definitely works well in a pinch just straightening stuff out.

Not terrible. The radiuses check good. As many reviews mention, the brass dies are very tight in the holder. It seems to be there the radius is stamped into the die. It seems to raise the metal a bit. They need to smooth that out a bit. I found if you lightly sand just the radius numbers on the die they fit fine.
