The grey rubber disk that holds the sponge has a tiny outlet with almost undetectable hole in it. Just press metal piece at the end of the wire connected to the electrode into it.I agree that the instructions that come with the device are grossly inadequate.

Is this different than a neurostimulator like Fisher Wallace?

Yes, this is a tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation) device that uses a Direct Current (DC) whereas Fisher Wallace is a CES (Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation) device that uses an Alternating Current (AC)
