It was probably my fault, but was shaking the mop outside, hit a step and the handle broke off where it screws in. I loved it until now, can’t use it. However, I ordered a new one to try again!

My husband bought me the StarMop system over 20 years ago and I've just purchased my first replacement cleaning pads. The quality of the pads is excellent and I highly recommend the product for anyone who is seeking a quick cleanup for hardwood and tile floors. I use the microfiber duster daily because dog hair sticks to it like crazy…thank goodness. I use a steam cleaner on my floors every week but the StarMop system is so easy to use for touchups by the door and in the bathroom that mid-week a swipe is a piece of cake; throw them in the washer and DO NOT use fabric softener. The only thing I would change is the ability to order two of the microfiber green instead of the white long fuzzy one which moves stuff around but does not perform as well as the green.

This is a decent mop, nothing special. The dark pads and blue pads are good for scrubbing floors, but can leave streaks on smooth surfaces like wood, laminate and smooth tile. The green and white pads are good for sweeping and dusting--kind of works like the Dry Swiffer, but that's about all. The green microfiber pad should not be used when wet because it is very difficult to maneuver over floors because it simply does not glide smoothly. I much prefer the Vileda mop by O Cedar. It only has one pad that buttons on, but it is the only one you need. I sweep and dust with it dry first, then after brushing off whatever it has picked up over the trash can, I wet it a bit and mop the floors. It glides easily, cleans well and leaves no streaks. It washed beautifully in the washing machine too.

I LOVE this cleaning set. Especially the dusting pad. Dirt literally flies onto it, hair sticks to it, and it's so easy to clean our new laminate wood floors. From the infomercial it looked as though that was supposed to happen with the bright green pad as well, which I could not get it to do, even after sticking it in the dryer per the instructions. I usually just use the dusting pad then use the bright green pad to mop up a bit of vinegar and water I've spritzed lightly from a spray bottle. Works beautifully and our floors always shine.

I recently got a rabbit and I need to use products that are safe for her since she grooms herself a lot. I do use a safe soap with this when I clean the linoleum under her enclosure, using the heavy scrubber pad, then I use the blue one for rinsing it off. I really like this mop and now with these different pads it's even better! I spent more money on a Casabella mop that broke less than a year after purchasing it (plus the mop pads are more expensive) and I don't think it was worth the money. I will stick to Starfiber!

I've used them all but the dusting pad & they all work very well. Nice way to find out which pad will suit your needs best. I find the scrubbing pad best for removing muddy dog prints from our hardwood floors. All have been washed a few times & are holding up well.
