Unless these are made out of a tree made out of plastic the answer is no, they are not wood, the one thing I have to say about them is that they give you a consistent ball height.

The actual length of the above ground portion of this tee is roughly 2" (precisely 1 15/16" to be precise). Any other answer is not correct. I've received these tees and I've measured them just now! I hope that helps!
