My main worry when buying these was if they fit snugly to the ear while they were attached to my hard hat. This has not been an issue. They hold tightly. I wear them around concrete trucks while they are mixing and the ear muffs brings the noise down to a low distant rumble.When not using them you can pull them away from your ear till you feel a click, this positions them out and you can rotate them up to the top of your hard hat. You can then click them back down and they will stay snug against your hard hat. I have wore them like this for short times. When I do not need the ear muffs I generally take them off my hard hat as they do add quite a bit of weight to your hat.They work great and are worth the purchase.

They slip out of the helmets holes too often

I have dropped them, pulled them too hard, hit them on steel beams, had beams FALL on my hard hat with them on, nothing seems to phase these over ears.Do I recommend them? Absolutely. I've worn them DAILY (as I have to) for nearly 5 months now, they to this day are STILL comfortable and work wonders. Cannot recommend enough.

I was wearing just over-the-head ear protectors, but then my company said their insurance said we have to wear hardhats. These ear protectors made it nice to wear the hardhat. They help to keep the hardhat on and in place. They click in for snug and click out to take them off, or swivel up on the hat if you don't want them down. I put the hat on by holding the ears, and holds in place nice. This is my second purchase. I got the white Optime 95 to go onto my white hard hat and ordered these black ones to go on my red hard hat. These have a little more ear protection muffle than the white ones, but they are both great.

These were exactly what I was looking for. They clipped right on my helmet, no tools, no hardware. They pivot up out of the way when not needed. When you are ready to use them, just pivot them down. They are held slightly off the ear to allow hearing until you push them inward and they snap into place to allow a tight but comfortable seal against the side of your head. I use them when shooting fireworks (professionally) so only wear them for 30 minutes or so at a time, but they are fantastic. So much better than other hearing protection I was using, and one less thing to keep track of since they are now integrated into the helmet.
