Beware requires patience
Tool performs as it is supposed to, although you first have to get the material very close do the desired diameter. It catches easily so is better to take thin cuts.

Great for spindle work but the cast Aluminum breaks easily
Frustrating tool/jig as its ideal for spindle work but breaks easily and not repairable unless you can weld cast aluminum or pot metal.

Near perfect and easy to use
I have been wanting to build more chairs, but dreaded fitting the tenons. This tool makes it a snap when used with the proper parting tool. The tool is fairly easy to set up. There is no minor adjustment with it so it may require snugging the bolts and a gentle tap for that last .001.

Allows consistent sizing
I have used this Robert Sorby sizing tool to create a consistent accurate cylinder on the lower end of turned chisel handles for placement of a ferrule. It works exactly as advertised

Poorly finished.
Out of the box, the casting appeared unfinished with flash and bumps just painted over. The interior of the tool, where the cutting tools would be placed, was apparently not machined to the specified dimensions and was heavily painted. Neither my 3/8" Bedan or parting tool could be inserted without about an hour of filing away paint and excess metal. Finally, the ball end of the tool which would bear against the work had irregular flash which would have clearly caught on a turning. This had to be ground away and smoothed, if not just for safety's sake. For 36+USD this work should have been done at the factory. Once finished correctly the tool worked as expected.

Works to size Tenons
Saw this in Chris Schwarz's blog in a book exert, so I bought it and tried it out this weekend. It works well! I bought a 3/8" square piece of tool steel and had it sharpened to use as the cutting tool.
