Works without handguards
These are good. The price is good. They work okay.I have these on a BMW f650GS, and they work; although, they needed some modifications.First, upon installation I found that I had no room to use the switches (turn signals, horn, starter). After looking at it I realized that the velcro was sewn on along the opening for the mirror in such a way that it took 2" of spaced out of the switch area. I made a small velcro strap that attaches to the loop side of the gauntlets, and then to the hook side. This lets that seam lay flat, and opens the space for the switches.Second, I found that while riding I had a hard time getting my hand back onto the grip without pushing the gauntlet forward. So, I made a small hole in the end of the gauntlet where it matches up with the handlebar to put a small thumbscrew through to my handlbars (i have threaded inserts in my bars). This keeps the gauntlet from being pushed forward when I am reaching for the bars. All of that said, these do keep my hands warm. I have ridden in 18f with just my regular leather gloves, and didn't get uncomfortable. When the temp. is above 30f my hands are actually warm, and above 40f I start wondering if I need my mesh summer gloves.

Wow!!!
Riding snowmobile my hands get cold on really cold days so I tried these gauntlets. Wow! They slip on and off easily. I can reach all the controls and my mirror works good with it on. Just to experiment I just wore regular light gloves instead of heavy mitts and rode for 2 hours at zero degrees with warm hands the entire time. I don't impress easily but today I'm a happy camper!! They also will fit the atv that I use for ice fishing. Excellent product.

This review relates to the above machine only. The three star rating does not reflect the quality of this item, which is excellent, it is just that these handlebar muffs are, by default a generic item and may well fit a different type of motorcycle perfectly. They will fit a GSA with hand guards, but ONLY JUST! My bike had the additional Wunderlich wind deflectors attached to the factory fitted guards and these had to be removed. If you decided to fit these mitts to your motorcycle bear in mind the following caveat... you must have perfect muscle memory in relation to the position of your controls for, once the muffs are fitted there is not much room for manoeuvre inside. If you wear heavy winter gloves with internal armour these will not work for you (glove on the bottom), if you have gloves where the padding has compacted over time (glove on the top) there is no problem. The starter button has to be operated from outside the mitt, there is no pressure on the switch itself, its just that the space available inside at this point is too tight for a gloved hand. Due to the OEM hand guards the mitt does not cover the wrist completely, however, riding on a 26 degrees F NM morning both my fingers and wrists were kept warm, there also did not seem to be much of a draft funneled through the velcro fastening area either.Pros:They will fit a 2007 GSA with handguardsThey do keep your fingers and wrists warmFitted within five minutesThe wired opening is an excellent feature, both hands can be removed and replaced without any issuesAesthetically, they are not that unpleasing to the eyeAll switches, other that the, ABS and starter switch can be operated as normalCons:They are a tight fitThere is less room in the throttle side than the clutchYou as a rider must be confident that you could use your switches with your eyes closed!Starter button can only be operated from outside the mitt.Thick winter armoured gloves did not work for me. (although, as the mitts are warm a lighter glove might give better results).Hope the above helps. I bought these knowing that,at the advertised price, if they did not fit I had not invested that much to be disappointed. However, I was pleasantly surprised and would be more than willing to purchase again.Update 03/11/19. Having just ridden 750 miles from Albuquerque NM to San Antonio TX in cold, blustery weather I have awarded these another star. Hands we kept extremely warm and they seemed to funnel a lot of the wind away from the forearm aiding stability, something I had not even considered.

Nice hand covers, good quality, will keep your hands warm.
I bought these to keep my hands warm and dry for winter riding. They're good quality hand mitts. I ride a lot of long (2+ week) motorcycle trips, so I wanted hand mitts that are easy on/off and can pack flat so I can easily bring them with me. I wanted to be able to remove the mitts for nice weather and easily install them on the road when it gets cold. I can install or remove these from my bike in about 2 minutes and they lay completely flat when removed, so they're easy to pack. You have to have rigid hand guards on your bike to use these mitts, otherwise the wind will push the mitt back against your levers. These fit my Buell Ulysses with stock hand guards and stock bars perfectly. To fit them on my DR650 with stock bars and Cycra Pro Bend hand guards, I had to remove about 1'' of stitching along the edge with the opening to make it wide enough to fit over the Cycra guards. I removed the 1'' of stitching with a small razor blade, then added a few new stitches to keep the seam from continuing to unravel. It worked great.I like how easy they are to install and remove and that I can switch them from bike to bike in minutes. Both bikes that I use these mitts on also have heated grips. The combo of the mitt an heated grips will keep your hands warm, even if it's below freezing outside. I highly recommend these to extend your riding season into the cold. This would have been a 5 star product, if the openings were wide enough to clear my Cycra guards without modification.
