I have the Playtex Diaper Genie Elite for our diaper pail system in the nursery. Introduction: I normally use Playtex diaper genie refill bags or the Up&Up refills but the Mama Bear Refill bags were a great price so I thought I’d try them. They are just as good, if not better (because of the price) than the brand name Playtex bag refills. Fit and Setup: The Mama Bear refills work exactly like the Playtex ones. You remove the plastic ring on the top of the product and then find the end of the bag and pull it upward and then through the ring and tie the bottom of bag (see photos of unopened ring and side by side top of Mama Bear/Playtex). I literally found no difference in setting up the Mama Bear ring and the Playtex. I also found that the ring fit exactly the same as the Playtex (see photo of Mama Bear ring inside the Diaper Genie). *Both Mama Bear and Playtex were equally matched on fit and setup. Quality: Both Mama Bear and Playtex have 7 layers of protection and fit up to 270 diapers in each refill ring. The feel and sturdiness of both Mama Bear and Playtex are the same. The tough/feel/sight/smell of the two products are to my eyes and fingers EXACTLY the same (see photo of opened products in my fingers). I haven’t seen any difference the Mama Bear and Playtex in being able to hold a full allot of diapers (no rips or strain). *Both Mama Bear and Playtex are the same quality. Packaging: Both Mama Bear and Playtex look exactly the same - same color, same markings, same shape, size, seemingly the same weight. If you were to remove the side label on the Mama Bear and Playtex refills I would not have the ability to know which was which (see the photo comparisons). *Both Mama Bear and Playtex have the same package and product (only difference is the label on the outside). Note: I did not compare the Up&Up (Target) version of diaper pail refills, but those are seemingly subpar to both Mama Bear and Playtex. The Up&Up are flimsier, and the ring on the outside isn’t as sturdy. I would not recommend them given the fact that Mama Bear is a superior product and the same price. Overall: I found Mama Bear and Playtex diaper pail refills to be almost exactly the same so if the Mama Bear brand is less expensive I will absolutely continue to buy them. These Mama Bear diaper pail refills are fantastic! They work perfectly with our Diaper Genie and provide excellent odor control at a fraction of the cost of name-brand refills. The unscented option is ideal since we don't want artificial fragrances around baby. The 1080 count with 4 packs lasts us months, making this an incredible value. Each refill holds just as many diapers as the expensive alternatives while maintaining the same level of smell containment. It works. It is cheaper than brand-name refills.

I had almost given up on finding a refill for my Litter Locker II, until I found these. Plus, they were cheaper than the name brand ones I bought 10 years ago. Last year, I rediscovered our old a LitterLocker II, along with 5 refills. When the supply of refills started to dwindle, I couldn’t find any refills that didn’t require taking out a small loan. Until I was led to Mama Bear and thought, “the most I’ll lose is $15, so let’s give it a shot”. When they arrived, I was so excited to see they fit perfectly! The bags are sturdy, too. A bonus is the cost, being about a third the cost of the refills bought in 2013. The only reason I gave these 4 stars, instead of 5, was the second refill I used seemed to have some defects. First, after opening it, the open end of the plastic bag was buried deep inside and I couldn’t pull it out (ended up wasting a bit of the bag to finally get it to work correctly). Second, at the end of the roll, right when the black line became visible, I tied the bottom, as usual, but after dumping in the first scoop of litter, the bag became dislodged from the refill container, causing litter, poop and pee to fall out of the bag, into the bottle of the LitterLocker. I’m hoping the defective refill was an anomaly, because I didn’t have any issues with the first refill and so far, the third refill works great. Unless something crazy happens, I highly recommend this product for the LitterLocker II.

These Mama Bear diaper pail refills are amazing! They work just as well as the name brand refills—honestly, even better in some ways—and the price is so much more reasonable. There’s zero smell, even when the pail is full, and the bags are incredibly tough. I’ve reordered twice now and haven’t had a single bag tear, not even a little. The refills install into our Diaper Genie smoothly, and the pull tab to open the refill rips off much more cleanly than the name brand version. While I’m grateful my son won’t need these forever, as long as he’s in diapers, I won’t be buying anything else. These are the only refills I’ll use—highly recommend!

We’ve been using these diaper pail refills for a few years now and they work exactly as needed. The only issue I’ve found is the diaper pail no longer cuts them, but I’m pretty sure that’s an issue with our diaper pail, and not the bags. They’ve never ripped on me no matter how heavy the bag is.

I ran out of diaper pail refills unexpectedly one evening. After several minutes of imagining a day or two of dealing with stinky diapers in the regular trash, I asked Alexa to find unscented refills that could be delivered the next day. Alexa quickly found these and they were delivered by the time we woke up the next morning! These bags are strong and contain the diaper odor well. I will continue to buy them.

I normally stick with the name brand refills, but I decided to try these to save some money. The material does feel thinner and a bit more fragile than the name brand version, and I’m more cautious when changing them to avoid tearing. However, they fit well, do the job they’re supposed to, and most importantly, they keep those nasty diaper odors contained surprisingly well. Considering how much cheaper they are, I’m happy with the value and will continue to buy these ones.

Work just as well as the Diaper Genie ones for a fraction of the cost. Traps orders just fine and just as strong as the brand name ones. There is no reason to buy the OEMs. Save a boat load of money while your little is in diapers and go with these.

Good fit for the diaper genie. Occasionally had a hard time pulling the start of the bag out and caused large rips which then ruined a portion of the bag. That's my only complaint - once the bags were fully pulled out they worked perfectly.
