Herculiner Aerosol Spray Truck Bed Liner, 15 Ounce Spray Can, Black, Textured, Suitable For All Truck Beds, 6-7 sq ft Coverage

I preceded use of this product by trying the rustoleum brand spraycan bedliner, suffice to say the product quality and performance was beyond awful.That experience was a complete was a complete disaster, so I had a good comparison point. To begin this product was fresh in the rattle can and mixed relatively easily. The product appears to be under a higher pressure than regular spray paint, so nozzle effort and strength of the spray streak are noticeably higher. These leads to my first observation that due to the higher pressure, and the relative close focused spray pattern, it takes a bit of effort not to deposit too much material, which can lead to a run, and it also makes getting a uniform appearnnce as to the gloss of the final finish. The product would be better served with a nozzle that produced something similar to the fan pattern of a spray guy. That would facilitate getting more even coverage, especially on the final coat. I was coating a part for appearance, so this was more important to me. I managed to get an acceptable result but it was a little too touch and go for my taste. Obviously the spay gun applied method would solve these 2 problems, but I just had a dashboard to cover. The texture is prominent and even, and the finish is much closer to gloss than flat, a true semi-gloss, or semi-matte finish would be nice as an option. The product dries quickly and looks very good with the above caveats. Certainly it was like night and day as regards comparison to the Rustoleum product; this Herculiner allowed me to realize what I had envisioned for the restoration of an old series 3 Land Rover dash pad. I would recommend this product

I used the Herculiner Aerosol Spray Truck Bed Liner on both my 2004 red Toyota Tundra and 2007 black Honda Pilot, both of which had faded paint and big scratches from 20 years of use. The process did take some time, especially to sand down and clean the areas thoroughly and apply masking tape, but the actual painting was quick and easy. For my red Tundra, just one coat was enough to completely transform the look. The texture of the paint is great, and once it dried, it looked fantastic—better than the original finish, in my opinion. The anti-scratch formula provides a durable, protective layer, and my cars look so much better. I don’t feel bad anymore driving around in my older vehicles. This product really brought new life to my cars, and I highly recommend it for anyone with faded or scratched paint. In my experience, Herculiner is one of the best brands out there for this type of job!

I bought this to help put a stop to rust spreading on a golf cart. Brushed off the rust with a wire brush, then treated with rust-oleum, then finished with this bed liner spray. Once fully dry the coating is very durable, the color is a deep rich black, and it makes everything look brand new. The only photo I have isn’t the best for how I used it but I wanted to clean up the battery bay when we changed out our batteries. I grabbed a can of this I had used several days before and everything sprayed out like it was brand new. All in all great performance. It takes about 24 hours for the smell to finish airing out. Just be sure to keep the air circulating if you’re in a garage (like I was) or use this stuff in open air. Very easy to install but be careful about what’s behind what you’re spraying because once it’s on and dry it’s not cleaning up

First off, you ain't getting bedliner in a can, nope, tech is not there yet, maybe someday. But, for a bedliner type finish for things like bumpers, back racks, whatever, this stuff is great. Finish is very consistent and cures by moisture in the air, which is great because I always seem to get painting done at end of day when the evening moisture starts, it won't ruin the finish of this and actually promotes curing. Stuff is the easiest paint to apply, lays on thick even if your not trying, so don't go too heavy. I do have to keep touching up the finish here and there for the first week or so as I think it takes about a week to really fully cure. I will paint something with it and give it 2 days to cure before I handle it, and even then be gentle. I painted my headache rack which was aluminum with a factory powder coat finish. I scuffed it with SEM scrub prep stuff and red 3M scotch Brite. This herculiner adhered amazingly, the rack was sitting on my tailgate the other night when a wind storm came in, blew it off the tailgate, it fell and slid on the driveway with only a couple scratches that got down to the old powder coat under it, I was quite surprised it held up that well. Hit just those spots once and it looks perfect again. So yeah, not for a bedliner, but the best for everything else. I hope they start making more colors.

I had previously used Rustoleum bed liner for my mudflaps, cowl, and running board inserts and unfortunately it failed pretty miserably. There was a lot of fading and flaking and it just looked awful. Moreover, it took a lot of product. It was over a decade ago but I seem to remember 10 - 12 cans. The failures have been around about a year into the application. In fairness, some could have been my process which I tried to rectify when using Herculiner this weekend. First, I scrubbed the parts with Sem Soap and power washed, washed with Sem Soap again, sanded, then sprayed down with 90% Rubbing Alcohol and blow off with a compressor. There was still some of the old bedliner on some of the parts but was advised (by AI so hopefully it wasn't wrong) to use Sem Plastic Adhesion Promoter on the parts which were bare plastic so I did that. I then did several thin coats of Herculiner (waiting 10 min between coats as it was a dry, warm day). After the last coat I waited an hour and top coated with Sem Ultra Trim Black. My reason for top coating was to hopefully to prevent UV fading. The coverage of this stuff is nothing short of amazing. For all the same parts I only used 3 cans! It goes on thick so adjust your speed accordingly. I gave the parts a full 36 hours to cure before mounting them back on the truck. The finish is awesome. Nice semi-gloss and textured. The Rustoleum seemed to be more like sand paper which would trap all kinds of dirt. Herculiner leaves a smoother finish, though some of that could be my Sem top coat. I wish I took before pics but you can see the after pics here. Any imperfections were a result of my cramped spray "tent" but if I had the parts laid out and didn't care about overspray I would have done a better job. Still, they look a million times better than previous. Hopefully the Herculiner will be more durable than the other bedliner, but right away the finished product looks so much better than the Rustolem.

Another excellent product from J B Weld! I did by 2005 Silverado L33 And the bed looks brand new. This stuff is very durable and easy to apply without any problems. A clean dry truck bed and a warm sunny day will give you excellent results! It is well worth the money.

nice finish. did almost zero prep work and didn’t even take the steps off or mask off just sprayed it on the truck. any overspray on the truck wiped off easily. they are truck steps designed to get used and stepped on so i am expecting to retouch over time but one can is plenty to do several coats. time will tell how well it holds up but i’m happy with the initial results.

I was really disappointed with this product. Out of five cans, three wouldn’t spray at all. I even tried switching out the nozzles, but they clearly lacked enough internal pressure to work. The two that did spray clogged almost instantly, within minutes of use, even after shaking thoroughly and spraying upright as directed. The product itself might have decent texture and coverage (claimed 6–7 sq ft), but it's worthless if it won’t come out of the can. I couldn't return the faulty cans either, which makes this a costly mistake I won’t repeat. This was meant for a light truck bed touch-up job, and now I’m left with unfinished work and wasted money. I can’t recommend this product based on my experience. Q&A Section: Q: How is the coverage if the can actually works? A: Each can is supposed to cover 6–7 square feet, but I couldn’t verify that fully. The two that did spray gave decent texture, but clogging made it impossible to apply consistently. Q: Did you follow the prep instructions (cleaning, shaking, spraying upright)? A: Yes, I thoroughly cleaned the surface and followed all prep instructions. Still had major spray and clogging issues. Q: Can you return defective cans to the manufacturer? A: No, they do not accept returns, which is part of why I won’t buy this again. Q: Would this be good for smaller jobs like fender liners or bumpers? A: Only if you’re willing to risk some cans not working at all. I wouldn’t trust it for anything critical.

Put this on my new holiday trailer as the paint the manufacturers use may as well be water, they are super cheap. So I lightly sanded the entire front of my trailer, taped everything off and used this [no primer needed], and the results are excellent. This is pretty tough stuff and with proper prep work, will last far longer than the super cheap paint used by the OEM's. I did have a bit of sputtering from the nozzle half way through the project but I stopped right away, cleaned the nozzle and reshook the can with no issues afterwards, coulda just been some gunk. No other issues, no runs, etc. I let it bake in the sun when I was done but that has no bearing on the product. I kinda wish it came in a larger aerosol can but the product inside is excellent.

I tried the Hercules bed liner spray, and while it’s decent, it’s not thick enough for a proper bed liner unless you buy at least half a dozen cans and apply 3-4 coats. It’s more suited for smaller projects. I ended up using it on my truck’s wheel wells and it worked well for that. Just keep in mind it’s better for touch-ups or smaller areas, not heavy-duty applications.
