Troy Industries Back Up Iron Sights (BUIS) are the Gold Standard
I have nothing against Midwest Industries or Yankee Hill Machine, they both make solid Back Up Iron Sights (BUIS). But Troy in my opinion is the Gold Standard. When I first started looking at BUIS, I thought "Man, they are expensive". There's a good reason. Have you ever looked at two options, bought the cheaper one, and then later bought the more expensive one anyway because the cheaper one wasn't worth it in the first place? That's what spending cheaply on cheap BUIS is like. Do yourself a favor and spend good money for good BUIS.Back-Ups are there if your Primary (red-dot for instance) fails. If you need them at all (and granted the majority of the time, you will probably leave them folded) it is not a time for risking failure in the Back-Ups.The reviews for lesser cost/quality BUIS's said they don't stay in place sometimes. What? They don't stay up? See above about 'Back-Up failure'... Not a problem with Troy Industries. They lock in place. You have to push with a good amount of pressure - more than could be reasonably applied by 'accident' to get the lock to release so they can be folded back down. The material is well made. Nothing in the construction is cheap. Which is another great reason to select Troy.I opted for the HK style over the M4 style out of preference. It is definitely able to be used with Troy's Rear fold up sight. I like the circular style prongs over the "V" shaped ones. There is definitely plenty of room for use with red dot sights. I have an EOTech 516 on my rifle that I use these Troy BUIS with. The elevation is easily adjustable with the right tool.I like the windage adjustment in the Rear sight that has a lower profile than many other flip-up rear sights. That may be a preference. You want them in pairs from the same manufacturer, and YHM was sold out everywhere, so my choice was that much easier. The only thing that could make these better (and Troy does make them), is to get them with tritium night sights for low light shooting.I highly recommend these!

Best out there
These are the best iron sights out there. Sturdy, easily zeroed, and just look cool as hell. The hk semi circle is easier to acquire targets than the standard m4 style. I've had a bunch of other sights but these just work better and look way better. Metal construction and nice fit/finish. Don't waste your money on cheaper sights just to end up getting these later. You won't regret it.

Love these sights! Was debating between these and the mbus gen 2. I'm glad that I purchased these. They are more expensive then the mbus sights, but you get what you pay for. Very sturdy iron sights and they match magpuls fde color well.

Great sight
Got this for my AR build got the HK style.it's a great match with the DI-optic sight The HK style helped greatly on lining up sight picture compared to V style sights. I will buy this one again.

Great!
These Troy sights are great, they are easy fold down and raise up. They lock in place with no movement, and are easy to adjust. It just doesn't get any better than this!

Excellent machining and design.
Yes it is expensive but well worth the money. Fit and functionality is perfect. Installed on a DPMS panther Oracle.

Great design, perfect for gas piston blocks
Troy Industries claims these battle sights will handle the heat from being mounted on piston gas blocks. The circular shape also complements the rear ring apertures and many other optics, allowing for fast target acquisition. The white text on the front does seem kind of distracting, but the entire sight and the retention system is made extremely well.UPDATE: 20 MAR 2012After using these sights for nearly 2 years, the sights are holding fine. My gas block is on the same plane as the railed upper receiver, and the gas block is from my Adams Arms piston conversion kit. The front sight handles the heat like a champ, although some residue/carbon does build up on the sight during normal use. It cleans off using CLP.
