Broken Bonds: The Bonds That Tie, Book 1

Obsessed
I a writing this review after having finished the 6 books in the series, basically because as soon as I finished one book I jumped straight into the next as I could not physically stop reading these books. If these are on your TBR, you see them, somehow you come across these books. Read them! They are one of the best supernatural series I have read. This is a first for this author for me and it was wild. The FMC Oleander has been running from her bonds (fated mates) and her life ever since she lost her family. They all hate her, they don’t know why she ran, that she doesn’t care about the hurt it caused and they’re not exactly thrilled to have her back when they find her and drag her back. They have no idea they lengths that she has gone to and why she had to, if they need to see her as the bad guy that’s fine, she will be that for them because the truth is more terrifying. To make matters more complicated are that she has 5 bonds (mates) brother North and Nox who both hold dark and terrifying gifts. Gryphon who’s a soldier and their best friend. Gabe who’s the golden retriever of the group and Atlas who is the only one who knows their bond would have never left them without a reason. This book was a journey. Honestly my life has been devoted to these books the past 5 days because I just couldn’t stop reading them. The characters, the story, the emotions, the suspense. I have felt everything. The writing was so seamless, the side characters were gripping just as much as the main. I have a little withdrawal at the end of this series now. This starts as a slow burn to give you the background to the characters and the building that it needs but it doesn’t take long for the drama to start literally ripping apart everything that these characters think they control. I loved this series I honestly can’t put it any other way.5⭐️ 2.5🌶️

Good start to the series, excited for more!
3.5 rounded up ⭐️Although a little slow at times, I mostly enjoyed the storyline. We find out that Oli runs away from her bonds 5 years ago to keep them safe. Her bonds are angry with her for running away and they feel she did this for selfish reasons. She refuses to tell them why she really did it so she just accepts the abuse from them. Not only is this frustrating for the bonds, but it was also frustrating for me, because even when the book ended... I still didn't know why she had to leave them and go into hiding to protect them. This did make the story highly suspenseful and definitely encourages you to continue reading, I am just too impatient and didn't want to have to read the next book to find out.I also didn't find that it lead to anything exciting. Again, this will more than likely apply in the next books which is ensuring that I continue with the series... annoyingly clever. My attention is captured.. I shall be reading Savage Bonds to find out what happens next! The FMC is a badass, sometimes a little irritating at times, but honesty not surprising after what she's been through.I sort of started to like a couple of the bonds. I hate Nox though. Bree did an excellent job at writing a smarmy villain for us all to feel angry towards... He doesn't deserve to be Oli's bond and he really pissed me off.. several times. As did North, who just comes across petty and arrogant. It will be interesting to see what happens next and hopefully we can find out more of Oli's back story and her gift now everyone knows she has one! This story sucks you in from the beginning. It's an easy and entertaining read that I devoured in one sitting!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I need more!
What an amazing read! It caught me by surprise. I was hooked from the beginning. I love the magic and the concept of Bond and Bonded. Love her smart mouth and all of her bonds. I'm very intrigued by North, Nox. There's sexual tension and a lot of mystery. Read it in 2 days and I'm starting the next one now. I need more.

Loved
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2🌶"I definitely don't have an eight-pack. I have a little pouchy tummy that says I enjoy chocolate too much when I'm hormonal and let me tell you, I'm not ever giving it up for a flat stomach."The book that started my obsession. I absolutely loved this. I read it in a day.I loved the concept around this book and the magic system and it was just such an easy read. I honestly flew through and can 100% say it lived up to the hype!Oli is a badass FMC, and I loved that we slowly fell in love with her bonds.

addicting
I could not put this book down, it was so good. The first in a series, it doesn’t give much background information or world building, just brief snippets throughout the book. It feels intentional, and like more will be revealed as the series goes on.Atlas is a protective cinnamon roll, Gabe is growing on me, and gryphon kinda stole the show for me. Nox and North are still very much in the doghouse, but I’m sure that will also change soon.I’m excited to keep reading and find out more!

Phenomenal Series
Broken Bonds is the first of six books in The Bonds That Tie series by J Bree. The story focuses on Oleander Fallows and a society of bonded (gifted) and unbonded humans. The conflict between these two societies has resulted in dystopian vibes, violence and The Resistance. The worldbuilding and pacing are phenomenal! The first book is really focused on foreshadowing hints and then a massive revealing ending! I adore Sage and her friendship with Oli. They absolutely steal the show. As the plot slowly unfolds, pieces of the story make sense. Oli is the perfectly flawed female main character, she works hard, she’s had a rough childhood, and she is deeply loyal. The story starts with her keeping major secrets from her Bonded group and has some bully romance vibes. However, Bree writes these characters so well. Each character is distinct with their own histories, flaws, strengths, and weaknesses. This series is so good that I’m rereading it two months later. I will advise that readers read the trigger warnings for the first book prior to committing to the series. Other than that, I High recommend this why choose, high fantasy, dystopian series!

Wow!

Perfeito.

Absolutely in love!
I read this book in one sitting for the first time ever. The characters are just so well written and the sizzling banter is just everything. It has a strong fmc and the prospect of a FMMMMM relationship growing. This book is just the beginning of an epic story and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series! This book/series is intended for 18+ readers because of graphic scenes including sexual encounters, physical and mental abuse and the reverse harem trope.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a bit of fantasy and a whole lot of slow burn building including 5 different love interest!
