Awesome design, great functionality.
This leather holder is really pretty awesome. Has been able to handle all work on the stove, the cover is never so hot that I have to let go. Tightens and loosens very easily to move between skillets or remove before placing in oven. When cover is tightened I can flip and spin hot irons easily without having the handle rotate inside the cover. Purchased the standard 4.5 size, nicely fits my Griswold #5, Griswold #8, Wagner #8, BSR#9. The new leather smell initially was very strong and stays on the hand, this does lessen a lot within a week of use. Overall, easily the best I have encountered that will "just fit" any of my vintage pans. From what they mention this handle cover also will fit old/new lodge and some other modern cast irons. American made, huge plus in my book. Likely buying another so I can have one handle cover on each of my daily drivers.

Good leather. Very thick, but soft and pliant. Well stitched.
Will probably fit any pan handle. Holds well, zero chance of it slipping off the handle. Leather is brand new, so it has a pungent aroma. Your kitchen will smell like a tannery for a while.

This is the first cast iron accessory you should buy.
The media could not be loaded. I've tried the silicone ones. I've tried the cloth ones. Both are adequate but unsatisfying.Leather is the best, and this is a good design. It gets better with use. It insulates well against heat. It cushions well against the hard metal. It feels good in your hand. It matches the raw materials aesthetic and durability of your cast iron pan.As others have pointed out, people cooking over gas need to be careful with open flames. And this applies equally to other materials. Unfortunately I am stuck with electric, so I don't have that problem. The "Standard" 4.5" size works well for classic Lodge designs and most vintage cast iron pans like Griswold and Wagner. Various newer things might benefit from the longer version.

Best cast iron handle covers I’ve tried
As long as you are mindful of keeping the edge away from a high flame (which I’ve never had a problem with if the pan is centered over the flame and it’s not wrapping around the sides) these will work out great. I singed the edge at first and then caught on, but they were not damaged hardly at all. They also have enough room on the handle where if you have a high flame you can back them off away from the flame a little if you need. But they mold nicely to the handle since they are softer leather. They mold better than any others I’ve tried. Better than stiffer ones with a seam on the edges. My pan handles have not ever gotten too hot to hold with these even on high flame for searing a steak. And they are easily removable if you want to put the pan in the oven. They are the best covers I’ve used and want more people to buy them so they keep making them. I doubt I will have to buy more unless I get them for other people or I get more pans because I’ve had them for a year and I don’t think anything is going to happen to them. For reference, I have mostly Lodges, a 6”, 10.5” 12” and a 10” with a long flat wide handle, and a 8” vintage Wagner. I bought the longer one (I think 5.5”) for the long handle and it works fine with a nice tight fit.

Much better that the silicone handle covers
This is much nicer than the silicone handle covers that you will often see. I found that those were always sliding around on my cast-iron handle and would easily slip off creating a situation where you could easily burn yourself. This leather handle cover works amazingly. It fits snuggly on the cast-iron handle, but could definitely adjust to a bigger one. Stays on until you take it off. And disperses he much better than the silicone ones. I have yet to burn myself with this, and I’ve been using it constantly since I received it a few months ago. Added bonus. It looks much much nicer than the silicone handle covers. I got this for my husband as a stocking stuffer it’s not the most presentable when it comes, but he was very excited when he opened the box and it looks great in use.

Solid quality, fits various sizes well
A few months in, nothing but praise. Way to skip on and off but won't fall off on its own. This is on a 10 and 12 in skillet of different brands. Exactly what I was looking for.

The best
I ordered this to replace the standard cloth handle cover for my cast iron skillet and I absolutely love this one. It fit perfectly on a standard sized Wagner frying pan and it gives me a much better grip than the one I was using. It's also sewn well, not cheaply so I expect it will last for many years.

Durable and works well.
Loved that it was made in USA. Leather doesn’t seem to fail. Gets the job done and looks good too. Doesn’t look cheap.
