I see clients in person and also via video conferencing, using my small studio for both. This requires a stand to hold my laptop that will unobtrusively slide under my built-in desk during in-person sessions, and easily pull out and adjust to the proper height for video conferencing. This stand hits on all cylinders (and believe me, I researched A LOT to find it), and is SO AMAZING because:1) ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT: 28 inches to 42.5 inches. That is a big span, and allows me to slide this under my desk (with laptop), and also to raise it to the perfect level for video conferencing. No more having the camera angled up at my nose hairs or down at the top of my head.2) HOW IT ADJUSTS: SO EASY! I specifically searched for "pneumatic adjustment", which means I can flick a little handle and it adjusts--rather than having to mess with knobs or telescoping or other clunky adjustment methods. The Stand Steady has a small foot pedal at the base which allows me to smoothly and effortlessly adjust the height up or down. It is well modulated so it doesn't wildly careen up or down--it does require a little pressure, but not much. Perfect.3) EASY-ADJUST ANGLE FOR LECTERN: I will probably be using this minimally as a lectern, if at all, but I have taken this through its paces. The handle under and to the right of the top that controls the tilt of the top is also easy, and if anything a little over-responsive. WARNING: Before you start tilting this, get everything off. I wasn't paying attention and almost dumped my laptop. Once you set it, it's fine. This is not a criticism. Just know that it really works. Easily and fast.4) CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had a small issue in the shipment of my Stand Steady, and when I contacted customer service they went overboard in the speed and thoroughness of their response. You are dealing with a fantastic company.5) QUALITY: This is probably implied by previous points, but the Stand Steady is manufactured with superb quality.6) ASSEMBLY: When I first took the pieces out of the box, it looked a little overwhelming, and I was in dread. However, the illustration of the parts and assembly are clear and well done. The pieces were all there. And I had this baby up & running in about 15-20 minutes. Easy-peasy.7) APPEARANCE/DESIGN: The Stand Steady is sleek, modern, and attractive.This is pretty darned pricey for a "stand"--for me, a laptop stand--but in my opinion, SO worth it for what it offers. I had been using Seville Classics Mobile Laptop Desk Cart, which was very serviceable, but clunky to adjust. Rather than trying to adjust the height for video conferencing, I was using the Monitor Stand Riser with Vented Metal for Computer, Laptop, Desk, iMac, Printer with 14.5 Platform 4 inch Height - Black, which was better than the textbook I'd previously used for propping up my laptop, but still never quite the right height and one more piece of stuff to clutter up my studio. The Stand Steady is making my life easier, more functional, and also gives me a greater sense of professionalism for how it fits into my practice.

Got this as a reading desk to put by an upstairs window, but looks like may also serve as a small mobile table for hobby stuff. A little pricey, but excellent quality that should outlast me. The base is all welded steel with what looks like a powder coat finish. Too bad it's stark white; beige would be nicer. Rear casters and front feet assemble easily and make mobility a breeze while staying put in use. The pneumatic height adjuster operates easily and smoothly without feeling like it's about to launch the table, though you shouldn't leave your wine glass on it while adjusting! It goes from too low for sitting to high enough for standing. The table surface is a nice Formica/melamine subtle wood grain surface with a quality trim ring around the edges. The tilt control needs a shot of WD-40, but has 6 settings from horizontal (not mentioned) to vertical (useless). Very pleased with this purchase.

The lectern arrived quicker than stated when ordered. Unfortunately, the item arrived without two critical assembly pieces. These things happen. I contacted Stand Steady Customer Service via email and response/replacement was wicked quick. The lectern is sturdy, tilt adjustable, and perfect max height (42" as stated) for my wife's and my lecturing purpose. I move it to the living room, outside patio, and place it next to my work desk with ease. It fits well in the back seat of my Tacoma when lectern top is tilted completely down as pictured. The tilt mechanism is solidly welded as is the base. The pneumatic stem moves up/down as designed with slight foot pressure on the release located on the base. The two caster wheels are firm; not flimsy. I hand adjusted the one leveling foot (of the two) without flipping the lectern when I used it in our slightly uneven patio floor. Finally, the lectern slides perfectly under my living room chair where I place my books or documents for relaxing, hand free reads. Very nice item. Recommend.

I really like this table, it’s mostly of good quality and looks modern.However, it was very difficult to assemble at the beginning. The two pieces that need to be inserted into the two supporting legs are too big and overfit. I was very upset, and wanted to return it. I then used a hammer to try to pound a piece into one table leg. The piece was broken and a chip came off. I realized it was made of plastic, not metal. I then kept inserting the piece into a leg by twisting and pushing it, some paint or plastic was peeled off, after more than an hour, I was able to insert the two plastic pieces into the supporting legs. The rest assembling process was smooth.I really like this table, and it allows me to work anywhere I want at home. It also looks elegant. I hope the quality control for the table gets improved and all assembling pieces are of proper size.

I was hesitant to spend so much for a simple laptop table, but I'm glad I did. The assembly wasn't too bad. The table is sturdy and is easy to raise and lower. The height can be adjusted for seated or standing work. I often raise and lower it through-out the day to keep me from getting tired. The color of the unit I received is white with a light blond wood top. In addition to height adjustments the table top also tilts with a simple under-table mechanism. I'm using this for 8 to 9 hours every day and it was worth the price!

I work from home a lot and on the computer. I needed something for standing at the computer, taking notes while standing, and WebEx. This fits the bill perfectly. It is light and sturdy enough to move from room to room and even down a few stairs. It moves up and down and tilts great. I like the 2 wheels instead of 4 so it doesn’t move easily when you don’t want it to. It rolls good as long as you don’t tilt it too much. The wheels and foot pads are plastic but work fine.
