TC Electronic HALL OF FAME 2 MINI REVERB

Just buy it!
Better than expected! There's even an online library from TC Electronics where you can download more reverb effects. My mind was blown away! If you're in the market for a reverb pedal and don't know where to start, this is the one to get! By far, the Hall Of Fame 2 pedal offers the most bang for the buck and with TONS of versatility.

Amazing
Beautiful, magical effect. I have a separate reverb pedal and bought this one for the shimmer.

Perfect for what I need
First off TC Electronics makes great products. This pedal is no exception. Road ready solid construction. I need this pedal for one purpose only; to add a swell type reverb effect that has a strings element. I achieved that quickly right after opening the box. I have a lot of exploring still to accomplish but if all I get from it is the swells I will stay happy

Sounds like a chorus of angels
This is a cool shimmer-reverb pedal. It adds a heavenly chorus of sounds that are easily adjusted to suit your preferences. The construction is solid and the pedal easily mounts onto your board.

Stopped working after a week
Actually, when this unit was working, it sounded good, the distortions were excellent. However, after about 1 week, it started humming and then died. There's always one lemon in the crate, so maybe I just got the bad one. Had it continued working I would have given it 4 or 5 stars.

Unimpressed
I dont dig the sounds from this pedal. Its more shimmer than cool reverb with shimmer. It doesnt replace my HOF reverb and the shimmer isnt as musical as what I hoped for.But others like it so maybe you will too.

Great shimmer specific pedal!
I think this is the best stand alone shimmer you can buy. However, a few caveats. There is a noticeable volume drop when using the pedal; about the equivalent of turning the volume on your amp down from say 6 to 5 1/2. I use a loop switcher so this is less of an issue for me as I pair it with a clean boost to compensate for that. I would emphasize that this is a shimmer pedal significantly more than a reverb pedal so be prepared for this to be a very specific use pedal. I have an always on dedicated reverb so this is not an issue for me but something to be aware of if you’re looking for reverb and shimmer in one package. In terms of tone and usability, I think this is a great pedal that adds a wonderful and subtle wash of sound. Highly recommended if used in specialized circumstances.

Overall good, especially for the price, BUT!
It isn't the best one out there. Decent, but not perfect. I purchased this used from another website, and it's still on my board because it's a working pedal and has a nice sound for certain passages. It's decent for the price, but not the best. The volume seems to drop significantly when put in the FX loop, so I found it actually works best going into the front of the amp, so it hits the preamp and strangely, may distort your preamp that way- what? It INCREASES in volume going into the preamp and DECREASES the volume going through the FX loop?! IDK, it's a strange pedal, but that said, it probably won't leave my board for the foreseeable future, as it has been for about two years now with ZERO problems and still has a cool sound for certain parts of certain songs. The picture shown above is with it in the FX loop. It was about two weeks ago I switched to putting it in the front of the amp, because of volume trouble when put in the FX loop. I think I also added a TC Electronics Crescendo since then, and the Boss Tremolo is currently being worked on by Kinnatone in Oregon. I'm a pedal addict :-)

Good value if it's the sound you need.
I bought this unit in order to add tonal options to an acoustic 12-string guitar in a duo with a harpist. It does that job well.In an effects loop you can set it to fully wet on the "mix" knob and have a decent shimmer available. I'd use a volume pedal in the loop with it. The thing about the "mix" knob is that on max you lose the straight guitar signal. That's why an FX loop can be so handy. You keep control over the guitar signal. The "reverb" knob controls how long the shimmer lasts. On maximum that's a long long time. So maxing the "reverb" and "mix" knobs gives you an ocean of sound and time to think. The "tone" knob affects the effect, not the dry signal, which is how it should be. On minimum it goes very dark, and close to an ordinary reverb, but the octave shimmer is still there if you listen for it. Many demos of shimmer units fail to show how good the dark tones can be, but they can be entrancing. On maximum tone the effect is clear, light but not too brittle."Shimmer" controls the pause before the effect comes in. It goes from immediate to moderate, nothing weird. You could say the Fluorescence is a one-trick pony with niche appeal but, for the money, the quality is fine. I'll be using it for reverb options that are just a bit brighter and more interesting than those built into my acoustic guitar amplifiers. For a little bit more money you can have some fascinating and versatile shimmer units. I can recommend the TC Hall of Fame 2 and the Joyo Atmosphere, which I use for cosmic music. To enhance music that sticks closer to acoustic sounds, this modest little box is worth a look.

Nice effect but volume drop makes this unusable
(Fluorescence Shimmer Digital Reverb Pedal on Electric Bass)While perhaps not intended for Electric Bass, if you don't mind the large volume drop upon activating then this is overall a nice sounding pedal that pairs well preceding other effects'. It can give a nice glassy type effect when paired lightly before a Fuzz. then in to a Chorus.Bare in mind this is a digital pedal which suffers from that digital artefact type sound when using long Reverbs.

Disappointed .
I,m a big fan of T C Electronic,s effects but this just was,nt for me.My main bug bear was the inability to switch off the shimmer effect altogether , if you want to use this pedal in reverb mode only forget it .Usual great build quality from T.C.

Noisy and crackly
I had to return the first unit for replacement since it was so noisy when engaged, assuming I had a faulty one. Unfortunately the 2nd was just the same and also went back so it must be inherant to the design. It's a shame since the reverb effect itself would sound great otherwise, but if you play with a clean sound it's just too noisy.

Excellent sounds.
The Mash, function was disabled, no instructions in box but loads of stuff on Utube. The app to download the user options wouldn't work on my laptop but did on my phone, with reduced functionality. Still I'm very pleased with the quality of the sounds.
