I was pleasantly surprised - plus recommendations on how to wear
First of all, this CRABCLAW device is not some magical cure, but it can (and does for me) provide temporary relief for certain types of neck issues. For example, I'm a senior citizen and have spent a lifetime working out in various gyms. Over the past 10 years, my neck vertebrae have begun to compress so badly, that now, whenever I turn my head left or right, it is painful (like a deeply ingrained headache). Just sitting down and watching TV on a couch becomes painful in my neck area, or worse yet, while seated by my computer. Sure, I've tried heating pads and they might provide temporary relief, but the moment you remove the heat - well, the pain returns. So what to do? I saw this Cervical Neck Traction Device (boy, now that sounds like a fancy medical term, doesn't it) on Amazon, and at that low price, I had to order it. Now I was fully anticipating this device to be another cheap piece of junk (like snake oil)- given it's low price. When it arrived (quick shipping), I began to experiment with it. The first thing I discovered is "NOT TO USE THE VELCRO NECK STRAPS" (there are 2 of them). Instead, just attach the U-shaped device to your neck and begin pumping. What occurs then is that the majority of stretching (to use that term), occurs behind your neck, with a little on the sides. Now, if you were to fasten the velcro straps, what I found was that as the device inflates, the velcro straps can irritate the front of your neck, but more so, the device inflation on the sides "can" or "might" apply pressure to your carotid artery, thus giving you a different type of headache or discomfort. I noticed this right away, and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that the device works better with the velcro straps not engaged. The big question is, "does it work?" Well, yes it does - to a point! It's not going to cure your headaches, but it will provide relief. Right now, as I am typing this on my desktop PC, I'm wearing mine and I have no neck pain at all. It provides added relief when you're sitting at a computer because what often occurs is that your head is being either forced down or up (depending on how you have your seat adjusted). That can provide additional pressure and give you headaches. So, this device has surprised me. I wear it for around an hour while watching TV, and also wear it while seated at my desktop computer. It provides added relief when needed.Well, what about the negatives, some might ask? Keep in mind that this device is not a cure-all or permanent fix. It does what it was advertised to do - and again, wear how I recommended it. The only negative that I can add is that the the black hand rubber inflation device (that you squeeze), easily comes off while depressing, so keep that in mind.So given its ridiculously low price and the fact that it does provide temporary relief, I find this CRABCLAW Cervical Neck Traction Device to be a pleasant surprise. That's why I'm giving it the full 5 stars. As always, your mileage may vary (YMMV) - everything is subjective.

Perfect for neck pain relief.
This inflatable neck traction device offers customizable, gentle decompression for neck pain and stiffness. It's incredibly portable and easy to use, providing noticeable relief from tension. For those seeking an effective, at-home solution for everyday neck discomfort, it's a worthwhile and valuable investment.I like this more than the stiff plastic ones.

moderately effective
A typical hard mechanical traction device does not work for me because my neck muscles are so tender 24/7, 365 days a year. I was anxious to try this. It is moderately effective. It fits well, it expands easily, holds the air well, but takes a few minutes to get on and off. Physical Therapy suggested 15 minutes ON at a time, a few times a day. Like I said, it takes a few minutes to get on and off, so generally I only use it once a day. Best thing is it is soft and does not pinch or poke my neck muscles, so it is comfortable on my neck.

Fantastic Neck Brace!
I LOVE THIS NECK BRACE!I used this brace after surgery and I had to sleep in a chair for a few weeks. If you've ever had to do this you know how bad your neck hurts after sleeping from being kinked in a weird position.I tried so many different braces but this was by far the best! You can adjust the fullness of the brace to your liking. You can also adjust the tightness around your neck. It stayed inflated all night. The velvety material was so comfy and breathable. This such an awesome brace for sleeping in a chair (or a plane- great for long flights despite it being on the larger side). It deflates to small size and is easily storaged.I wish I had this for my previous surgeries. This is a keeper for sure. Since I didn't use it for traction of any kind I can't speak to that but as far as sleeping upright in a chair it's amazing. Don't hesitate to buy it, it's worth every penny!!

Surprisingly effective, very comfortable, and great for multitasking while working!
I bought this product in addition to an over the door hanging cervical traction device, as well as a laying down static neck stretching device, and liked this one the best all around!Surprisingly, this one provided the best quality stretch for me - it immediately cracked both my neck and my upper back as I was inflating it. It is also comfortable enough to wear while sitting and working, and I like that can also use it as sort of a brace to train myself to have better neck posture while doing desk work. I have a very bad habit of slouching with terrible forward neck head posture, and I love that this collar keeps my head up straight and pushes my shoulders down. It is great to wear for an extended period of time while multitasking, which was not possible at all with the other devices!I had expected the hanging over the door traction device to provide a stronger stretch, but it actually didn't. This inflatable device provides a surprisingly strong stretch, and I find that its stretch is more evenly distributed throughout the length of my neck. For me, the unexpected downside of the hanging device was that the stretch seemed to be concentrated too strongly at the base of my neck only, while not providing great relief in my mid-neck or upper back at all. I can only stretch in the hanging device for maybe a minute at most before my legs get tired, whereas I can keep this device on much longer. The laying down static neck stretching device wasn't even a contender. It didn't provide any sort of meaningful stretching or relief to me. It pretty much just felt like going to the hairdresser and laying your head back over the edge of a sink to get your hair shampooed. Not unpleasant, but no where near the amount of stretching or decompression as the other two devices.Overall, I liked this product the best by far! It provides a level of neck relief that I find to be similar to going to the chiropractor and getting my neck adjusted.
