We have a 17 year old cat that was recently diagnosed with asthma. I was worried that this item would not work as well as the big name expensive one but money is tight and the inhaler is so expensive I decided to try this one. This item came with 2 masks. Our cat has a very small snout and the small one fits great. He does not freak out anywhere near as much as I thought he would when giving him his meds with this item. So he seems comfortable. It is very easy to use. I can just barely see the little flap moving as he inhales but I can see it, so good eyes and more light may help you to see that it's working. I think it's very important to follow the instructions advising that it be cleaned in soapy water after every use. I'm sure if not the medicine could gum up the works so to say. It is also important to block the mask end after spraying or the meds will just fly out the mask end.
