Guidelines for Risk Based Process Safety

Risk Based Process Safety [Management]
The book must be renamed as above "Risk Based Process Safety Management". It is a lot of text and no calculations. What can be explained in 100-200 pages is written in about 700 pages. Gets boring at times. I thought that the other book I bought "Introduction to Process Safety for Undergraduates and Engineers" does a much better job.

Does PSM in your plant stagnate? Then, read this book.
This book provides the reason for stagnation of the process safety management. As an alternative to the existing PSM became very inactive, this book introduces risk based process safety management. Actually risk based management is getting more popular thesedays. We can find risk based decision making, risk based maintenance, and risk based design in many other places. This book provides readers with good examples and fundamentals of risk based process safety management.

Process Safety Management
The title of this book can be somewhat misleading as it has nothing to do with process safety from "design" point of view. This book is rather like a guideline for process safety management, including useful information within a number of areas such as risk-based process safety elements (RBPS), management of change, managing the risk etc. Personally, I found Chapter 2 and Chapter 15 quite interesting. In chapter 2, the evolvement of process safety/loss prevention is described from the primative "what should i do" thinking to "how can i better manage the risk" strategy. In chapter 15, Management of Change (MOC) is explained thoroughly.
