Chain tarnished, sides fell off and won’t stay on

The item is very well made and finished, but the chain is short, which means it has to be put on and off the catch each time it's worn. This will be an issue as I find the catch very small and fiddly and hard to use. So probably will not wear it much to the gym, unfortunately.
