We have a bathroom door that swings shut, and I like to leave it open so the heat can distribute in there (it doesn't have its own heat source). This rope block looks nice, and does the perfect job! It is heavy enough to easily holds the door open (I compared this one with other products, and it's one of the heavier ones). Our indoor doors are solid-core, but not solid-wood, but a pressed form. So, probably not the heaviest doors - but certainly not flimsy. I am pointing this out, because I saw some reviews that said the block isn't heavy enough to hold open doors. Well made and sturdy doorstop. After removing carpet and putting in wood flooring, doors swing open wider now and this prevents door from swinging too wide.
