A defining book on a band that defined an era.
There aren’t many details on the Oasis story that aren’t already wel-documented. It’s never going to be The Beatles in Hamburg but for a generation, the story of ‘that’ night in Glasgow is steeped in folklore. That the band are defunct and the subject of constant speculation regarding a will they/won’t they reunion is touched upon but no magical insights offered - draw your own conclusions. What the book does - and does exceptionally well - is weave together the narrative of the band’s dizzying rise. Told from the viewpoint of numerous individuals who were right in the heart of the Oasis hurricane. Notably, ex-drummer Tony McCarroll and prescriber of all things pharmaceutical, Simon Mason. This gives a balanced insight and is not merely an exercise in blowing sunshine up the bands collective backsides. If you were there, you’ll wallow in the heady days of the 90’s and know you saw something unique and special. Noel Gallagher was - for a time - conducting the nation and it’ll never be recreated. Either by the band reforming or some new upstarts picking up guitars and an attitude. The book is a must for any fan of the band - new or old. That it is as bang up to date as it is means that it’s both definitive and indispensable. The book is a limited print and feels like a quality addition to any collection. Big recommend from this satisfied reader.

Essential reading
The media could not be loaded. Impeccably researched, engrossingly written and bursting with unheard anecdotes, this hefty tome is essential reading for anyone even remotely interested in music history. A truly stunning piece of work.

I wasn't old enough to see them in their pomp, but this book makes my hairs stand on end!
For anyone who was a born a couple of years too early and narrowly missed them, it's absolutely worth a read. No doubt for those of you who were there, it's a book that answers a lot of unanswered questions about Oasis.Liam is better than Noel.As you were, OB x

Great read
This book is an entertaining read not only for Oasis fans but fans of British rock music in general. While forensic in its detailing of the band's career, the writing style is interesting enough to ensure the reader is entertained throughout. I wish all rock biographies were this engaging

The best Oasis book!
The best book on Oasis since the Paulo Hewlett one from back in the 90’s! So many new stories I’ve never heard before, in-depth info from those who were there, and a great source of information on everything Oasis! If you like Oasis then you need to buy this!
