Are these chef's knives magnetic?

The knives themselves are not magnetic, but they can easily hang on a magnetic knife holder or block. They are made from damascus steel which will stick to magnetic material.

Does it come with a case please?

It comes in a strong cardboard box. I wash it, dry it and return it to the box everytime I use it. It's very sharp and has no sheaf so it is for safety sake that I keep it in it's box. I personally think it would have been much better with a sheaf but it is an amazing knife.

Is it a double-edged blade or not?

Yes, it is double-edged sharpening. You can use it right-handed or left-handed.

Why did you choose this product over others?: It's from Japan and looked proffesional. It is very sharp and for the first time I can cut onions without my mascara running. :) .Its a treat to slice tomatoes as well, no drag at all.

Does as a knife should

Very sharp factory edge and feels very nice in the hand, has a good balance of weight to it. Has a nice desgin and is easy to clean. However the edge does not stay sharp to long, not a problem for me since I sharpen monthly anyway but worth mentioning, also the knife is made is China but is a Japanese style don't be miss led.
