Bright, Easy to Use, and Reliable — Minor Magnet Issue
I’ve been using this laser level for about a year and it’s been very reliable. The laser is bright and easy to see, and having both horizontal and vertical lines makes it really versatile for projects like hanging pictures or tile work. The magnetic base works, but I wish it was a little stronger for more secure mounting. It also takes a little getting used to when turning it off. The included batteries and carrying case are nice additions, and overall it’s been holding up very well. 👍 Pros: Bright, easy-to-see laser Horizontal and vertical lines Easy to use for multiple project types Comes with batteries and case Holding up well after a year 👎 Cons: Magnetic base could be stronger Slight learning curve when turning off 🎯 Final Verdict: Great tool for DIY projects and home use. Reliable, easy to use, and well worth it despite a couple minor quirks.

Fantastic little laser
I needed a self leveling laser for ensuring a sloped slab was completely flat for LVP. I went with green over the red because green is generally a hi-Vis laser color and I need to work in a well lit areas. The cross beam easily helps to mark out true level, and rotating this on a tripod (that I already had) was almost too easy to find low & high spots. Instructions that came with it are clear and easy to understand. Not much to it: put the batteries in it, turn it on & unlock the self leveler. It's also smart enough to flash if it's sitting too far out of level that it cannot self level. Very sturdy; I dropped it once from around waist height and it got knocked round quite a bit. Overall great product. Worth every penny, and something that I didn't know that I needed, but now that I have it - I suspect projects in the future that require leveling readings will be much easier.

Simple and Useful Laser Level for Home Projects
The Huepar laser level is a simple device to use; there aren't many gimmicks to it other than the self-leveling mode. It was immediately useful to me in my home projects though: installing a towel ring in the bathroom and installing a new receptacle in the wall. I used the laser level with a tripod I had on hand, and it worked really well; it provided level lines that exceeded the bubble levels I have. One of the issues I have with the Huepar is that the self-leveling function can be finicky. It sometimes blinks and doesn't want to settle if the platform/tripod you are using it on isn't close to level, so there is very little wiggle room, when you are in a tight space, like a small bathroom, and don't have a tripod or platform that has an adjustable range of 2 feet to 6 feet. Another issue is that the self-leveling mode doesn't power off with the power button. You have to lock it back into the standard mode, with a physical switch, before you can switch it off. There's a lot of touching the level to do this process; it is a hassle if you need to walk away from your work site for an extended period of time and don't want to waste the batteries but want your guides to stay the same. Lastly, the provided magnetic platform is almost useless. The magnets are weak and only sticks to the nearest to surface metal. It is nowhere near the as strong as my magnetic stud finder, therefore unable to provide a strong platform for mounting. Also, the mounting screw and mounting platform is pointless; it's unstable and not firm holding, allowing the laser level to be knocked on a swivel with the slightest touch. I like having the laser level and the green laser is bright and sharp for a home DIYer. I'd recommend something better for professional uses, but I don't mind recommending it for someone needing to install things level from time to time at home.

Issue getting it to "Self Level"
I am a construction pro. When I was younger, I was a large GC project estimator, worked as a "sparkie" and am a handyman. So I do know how to use tools and this is NOT my first level. Pros- The green laser really is bright. I like it much better than my red lasers. It is easy to use and cost effective. Cons- The self leveling does not seem to work. I have tried to switch the 3 position switch in each position and putzed with the on/off switch. It will blink and do a couple of other things, but the gimble never seems to release and let it self level. I just moved, and my tools are in total disarray, so I have not spent any time to really dial it in. But it should not be at all an issue. When I had read reviews about this issue, I will admit, I thought it was user error, but now, I am not too sure it is not a design flaw.

Nice and Can be Made Better
I have a Bosch +$100 version and this does just as well. In fact, I like this version better and wish these mfgrs would incorporate magnets right in the body. The magnet L bracket has its use, but many times unnecessary. So, see my modification to this laser level, made possible by a nearly perpendicular backside. I simply glued two earth magnets to the body. This still allows for the use of the L bracket and provides the extra functionality of tacking directly onto a drywall corner bead. For even better control, use a $1 (when on sale) magnet tool bar holder from Harbor Freight, and you have a quick and simple way to use this laser level with easy controlled vertical positioning. And if you really want to take this to the next level, use this setup with a Fastcap 3rd Hand Support Pole (which is made of metal). The Pole jacks between the floor and ceiling. Attach the magnetic toolbar to the Pole (better stability because of the flat surface), and you can position your laser level at the center of a room and swivel the Pole as needed (saving from the need for the more expensive versions of these laser levels). If you don't have one of these Poles, they can come in pretty handy, especially if you frequently work alone. At a minimum, add the earth magnets Huepar. Or I just may need to file a patent design😉

Just fine for general use.
My attitude when awarding stars for a product is that you balance what you received against what you paid for it. This laser was inexpensive and that’s what I was looking for. I needed to hang many tapestries and textile wall hangings, by myself, which would have been difficult to level and support without a clear level line established in advance. The hangings were all wider than my 4-foot bubble level. The laser helped me judge from a distance the height and level of each, which would have been difficult by myself, standing with a tape measure and level a foot from the walls. The laser was easily worth the price I paid, and it did the job I asked it to do. The laser can only be aimed upwards/downwards by four degrees. (4°) from level, so it must be elevated by a tripod, or a camera tripod standing on top of something, to achieve heights high above the floor. For the wall hangings, I had to use my camera tripod extended to maximum height, supported by a table underneath to get the laser line near the ceiling. The laser has a magnet that could be hung by the metal corner bead of a drywall corner, if the corner has metal, not plastic corner beads. Mine didn’t, so I used the tripod to mount it. The laser accuracy at 30-feet from the wall is about 5/8”, which is measurable but unnoticeable for most purposes. I later used the laser at dusk to level a line of fence posts outside, and it worked well for that, the laser line being bright enough in low light to mark the line of posts. My point is that the accuracy and brightness were sufficient for my purposes, the tool was cheap enough, and I guess it gets five stars on that account.
