Review: Game Changer - I was tempted to save my review on this until I've had this vacuum a bit longer but figured, I now know all I need to know. This vacuum is it! It does what I always imagined a vacuum should do. As in, it cleans up everything I run over without the need to go back and forth 4 times and then bend over to pick it up myself. I have a cat that is a heavy shedder. As if she wasn't hairy enough, I added a great Pyrenees mix to our household. Between the two of them, I am a daily vacuumer. I use either my shark rocket stick or my Roomba (in the rare instance my kids left the floor clear enough to use). I've been watching over the past few months as the hair just kept piling up. I was not getting anything clean, I was just keeping the rolling hair tumbleweeds at bay. The Shark Stratos gave me a whole new level of clean. Not a hair left to be found. I have mostly hardwood but have rugs in each room. This vacuum transfers surfaces easily with the switch right at thumbs reach. The suction on this thing is not joke. Several of my area rugs can only be cleaned in the hardwood setting. The carpet and area rug settings are too strong. On those rugs, the hardwood setting still does the job. The rug in the pic above had been first vacuumed same day by my Shark Rocket (8 yrs old and most likely in it's last leg). I was over this rug and thought it couldn't be saved. I was no longer able to get the imbedded hair out. I was simply vacuuming the top layer. It was gross. Then I vacuumed ONE time with the Stratos. Jaw dropped. I could list the pros for ever but instead, I'll just say, this vacuum is worth every penny and then some. I will without a doubt purchase again. Instead, I'll cover the few cons I have found. This vacuum is a beast! It's heavy. I say this with the caveat that I am coming from a smaller, lightweight stick vacuum. The up, the stratos does such a good job, I don't need to use it daily. This will be my every other/every third day deep vacuum. Next, the hose is not ergonomic when you have it detached to use the attachments and for vacuuming the ceiling, etc. I would prefer to hold the hose itself instead of the handle. I think the air filter in it could be a bit better. I have sensitive air purifiers in my upstairs and downstairs. They will sometimes start cleaning the air when I vacuum. I don't say this to deter anyone. I think that the stratos will solve this problem after using it consistently. There will be much less dust and dander to kick up in the near future. Is there such a thing as too strong? I'm used to vacuuming around all the Legos, nerf bullets, etc. With this, only roll over what you intend to remove from the floor. Personally, I don't see this as a complaint but I've seen people say the craziest things in their reviews. Thought I should cover that.
Review: This thing is a monster - I've had this vacuum for a few years and have been very pleased with its ability to handle mundane messes and a hefty amount of pet fur (a husky and 2 cats). But today's task was not typical. I've been quite ill and haven't vacuumed in 4 months. Today, I finally felt well enough to get the vacuum out. Copious amounts of fur had tangled into a web-like 2nd carpet, spreading across the floors of my 1200sqft home and trapping 4 months of tracked kitty litter, stray kibble, dirt, dust, and debris. Most vacuums would have struggled to do even a medial job of cleaning up this monumental mess. Some would have choked to death on seemingly endless fur. I braced myself and got to work in slow, steady passes. Nothing would stop this vacuum from its feast. It nimbly navigated transitions between hardwood floors, area rugs, and plush carpet with the flick of a switch. The handle wand eagerly probed under furniture, finding every last dust bunny in even the smallest crevices. It was a massacre. It never struggled or complained when the dust cup hit capacity (5 times, if you're curious). In fact, it seemed almost offended by the interruptions. The lever release on the cup made emptying it quick and efficient. Each time I put the empty cup back and turned it on, the machine greedily resumed its feast. I also had to clear accumulated fur off the front beater bar 3 times (remember, 4 months of husky and cat fur) This was also easy and quick. The fur clumps up into a long mat on one side of the cylindrical bar; A quick swipe and the feeding frenzy continued. It never hesitated. It never faltered. It never stuttered. It scoffed at my doubts and obliterated every last hair and crumb in my house. Today I realized this vacuum is no ordinary vacuum. It's determined. It's ravenous. It's a MONSTER. And it's now resting in my closet, cord coiled menacingly on its side, eagerly awaiting it's next meal. I'm glad it doesn't have a taste for flesh.

**Q: Do you have to detach the tank to use the hose?**
A: Not at all. You can use the hose while attached to the whole vacuum, but for higher up spaces I would recommend detaching the tank and holding it as you vacuum. The hose isn’t super long.

**Q: can you turn off the power fins when vacuuming hard floors?**
A: Yes you can. The hard floor setting on the handle stops the power fin roller and increases suction. That with the soft roller is awesome on hard floors.

**Q: Can you turn odor neutralizer off?**
A: If you don't want the odor neutralizer feature, think about ordering the model that does not include that feature.  I have the model without the odor neutralizer, and it is certainly the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned!

**Q: How does the Roller work on carpet and can I lift the roller up**
A: The roller works great on carpet. No you cannot lift the roller up.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost too many pets? This is the vacuum for you.

If you have 8 pets like we do, this is the vacuum for you. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 guinea pigs. Forget about the oink oinks for a sec. The dogs alone shed enough to power an industrial pillow factory that makes pillows filled with dog hair. We have a golden, a shepherd, and a jack russell. The cats are shorthairs but they also add to the hair chaos. The pigs. The hay they eat goes everywhere and... they throw their poop. They don't tell you that they throw their poop btw when you buy these things at the store. My point is that this is the only vacuum so far that has been able to keep up with vacuuming both floors of the house. Is it heavy? Yeah it is heavy as heck. I'm not a scrawny dude and honestly it's not like the easiest thing to wield. Is it big? Yeah, I mean it ain't small y'all. It works on every floor. Carpet: theres nothing like this thing for picking up hair off of carpet. What surprised me the most was how dirty my hardwood floors were that i thought the dyson was handling fine. It's very easy to put together out of the box. Also, when it clogs up, there are only so many places you need to check. My one pet peeve is that the dust container design is subpar. There's a lot of room for stuff to get stuffed up. It usually makes a mess of dust around where you dump it out. That's why i empty it in the big shop trashcan in the garage. Heck sometimes you might even need to vacuum around where you just emptied the vacuum, hah! Anyway this thing sucks real good is what I'm saying. I think the price point is perfect is for how well this works. Hope that helps.
