Premium Shemagh Head Neck Scarf - Dark Brown/Black

I really enjoy my Shemagh. I live in CO, and the fall cold snap hasn't affected me in the slightest with this thing on. People are complaining about it not being super soft.. When it was designed (It is traditionally called a Keffiyeh), they didn't have stuff like 'Microfleece'. Regardless, It's a multi-purpose scarf/head wrap that you should carry or wear every day. These scarfs have almost unlimited uses. Here's a few examples:Dust Protection. Cover your face on motorcycles, truck beds, and tops of chicken buses.Sun Protection. Great for when you’re stranded in mid-day heat without shade nearby.Towel. Small, lightweight, fast drying, but thick enough get the job done. Perfect for the beach.Warmth. Wrap it around your neck as a scarf on the top of a mountain.Bag. Lay it out, put stuff in middle, tie four corners together. Instant hobo sack.Sarong. While shorter than a normal one, it can still be wrapped around your waist.Sweat Rag. Great for hiking, running, or other sweat-inducing activities.Arm Sling. Sprain a wrist or break an arm? Perfect for temporary immobilization.Emergency Bandage. Help stop bleeding and protect the wound until you get to a hospital.Pillow. Thick & soft enough to ball up and sleep with on bus rides or camping trips.Weapon. Twist a big rock up in the middle, and you have an instant self-defense tool!Concealment. I don't know if its just my monitor overly enhancing the colors in the image, or it is just a bad photo. But if you compare the two its clearly missing some of the nice subtle colors displayed in the preview. im keeping it but I'm not stoked.

While I very much appreciated that it came in the color advertised oh, and looks very classy with most everything I own as a winter scarf oh, I couldn't help but notice that the pattern looks more like a print but it's most certainly not woven. You get what you pay for

I rated it 5 stars because I couldn't find any good reason not to give it 5. I've seen some videos where people say that a "real" shemagh is 44" but this 42" seems like a good size to me. In other words I didn't think it was too small.The quality is excellent especially considering the price. I wore this the first 3 days without washing it. (I know I know). It smelled like new white t-shirts before they're washed. It was also a bit scratchy.I was afraid to wash it in the washing machine because I thought the tassels were going to get caught up somehow. I didn't experience that. I also thought that it would shrink a little. I didn't notice that it shrunk. Seems like the same size to me. I will say that I didn't put it to dry for the full amount of time or intensity. I put it for a shorter time so that it was barely damp when I took it out of the drier. Fabric feels great now.Right now it's cold weather outside so I can't comment on how well it protects against heat or the sun. I can say that it's been doing a great job with the cold weather. The weather has been between the 30's and high 40's where I'm at right now. Hasn't seen snow however.I've only had it for about 1 week and so far I've been extremely satisfied with my shemagh. I will be buying more!
