Razer Ornata V3 Gaming Keyboard, Low-Profile Keys, Black

I spent over a year looking for the perfect keyboard. You'd think I would have gone straight to Razor, since I'm such a Razor fangirl (Naga mouse, headset, etc.), but I kept going with cheap keyboards. I was looking for a very specific type of keyboard: mechanical feel, low-profile keys, satisfying clicking sounds that aren't too loud, and preferably RGB. This checks ALL those boxes. Seriously, I'm kicking myself for not just getting it sooner (though by the time I decided to finally get it, it was on sale, so the timing worked out). I like that the wrist rest is magnetic - the magnets are actually pretty strong, too, which means I don't have it sliding around even during my furious typing sessions. The keys are soft to the touch, but have a really satisfying click. It's not silent, but it's definitely a lot quieter than other mechanical keyboards I've had. The backlighting colors are bright and pleasant; I like that it doesn't just switch between 3 or 4 colors, but rather fades into each shade, so you get the true rainbow experience, without any flashing between colors. I haven't had any issues with it at all, zero lag whatsoever. The price is honestly really good for something this solid and comfortable. I use it for gaming and for my WFH job, so I'm on it all day, and it's honestly the best keyboard I've ever had. Another Razor win! Oh - a quick side note, this doesn't really matter to me, but it might to some people: I noticed that in a couple of games, it gets weird flashing patterns and sticks to one or colors. In Fortnite, for example, it only lights up blue, and flashes at random intervals. That's the only game it's really been noticeable though, so if you don't play Fortnite or you don't care, then disregard this!

Now I have to say, I tend to have a love/hate relationship with keyboards, especially gaming keyboards. The "good" ones to me tend to be very chunky, big keys, etc. I keep thinking of an IBM Selectric typewriter, and if you don't know what that is then get off my lawn. Now my daily computer is a MacBook Pro. I use the Magic Keyboard when docked and, well, it's a low profile keyboard that I like very much. Going from that to a pro-level mechanical gaming keyboard is really a shift. So here, Razer seems to have solved my dilemma. This is a low profile keyboard but it does have a positive response that is expected from a gaming keyboard. But it also straddles a line between pure gaming and pure general use. In that it works, and works well. Think of this as a keyboard that isn't 100% focused on the gaming. Now then, about the functionality. It does what it's supposed to do, though some things are little absent. Media control buttons are just those...buttons. No scroll wheels or dials. Odd to me. Layout is generally as expected, and I'm old school enough to really want the ten key there. The clicking of the keys is a nice thing to me, as it does provide some positive feedback...the keyboard isn't as mushy as a purely membrane keyboard. It's not quite as positive though as purely mechanical either. Yes, I confirm the ad copy that this is a hybrid, which does require some compromise. So this all said, lighting is in ZONES and not individual keys. This gets me a bit perturbed as I kind of like WASD to be set off from the rest of the keyboard. The zones are mostly decent, in that I mean the two right hand zones follow the format of the keyboard, but after that I'm not seeing a rhyme/reason to the zone borders. And yeah, you have to use Synapse/chroma for the functionality and colors. That is, well, I'm not reviewing Synapse but I'll say I have a love/hate relationship with it. I like the wrist rest, and really recommend keeping it on there especially if you're using this as an everyday keyboard. I like having it there for general use, but in gaming I tend to remove it and rotate the keyboard slightly clockwise to make it more accessible with my left hand. It responds well enough for this amateur gamer. It has great build quality for the application, inasmuch as it's not designed to take a serious pounding but it IS sturdy enough to work well for most anything under that. Responsiveness is similarly appropriate. It's wired only, so take that into account...you'll need a USB port. So I like it. A lot. It's not a pro keyboard, but I'm not a pro. Accounting for the compromises, I don't see anything there that seriously impedes the mission of the product. Yeah, the zone lighting is a bit yuck, and the anti-ghosting...isn't there...but for shall we say motivated amateur use I like it a lot.

I have been using it for couple months now. Excellent! Typing experience very good and feel good. Very responsive. Love it~~~ I love the typing sound and use it for work.

High quality keyboard nice clicky sound. While more noticeable close up, harder to hear from distance then a normal keyboard which is nice for not waking a tech distracted kid. Backlit so you can see at night. But some things to keep in mind, high actuation force keys, some people might love that tactile sensory feel, but it could be tiring after a bit. The back lighting shines through in between the keys, not just the key legends like higher end keyboards. The legends are also smaller than standard and multi legend keys are displayed horizontally instead of vertically. It's wired, no option for wireless. Upon plugging it in you'll get razor software push, we did fine with the dynamic lighting settings in Windows 11 as well as an unrelated RGB app and no razor software. Might try that later but don't have the need now.

As someone who has been here since v1 of this keyboard and loves this series I do have some minor issues with the v3 listed here. The Good - Absolutely love the bouncy feel of the mecha-membrane and Ive even built my own keyboard. There is just something so good about the typing actuation and how quiet it still is. - Full size can be really nice when I need a number pad and as a developer it just allows a lot of customization - Works on Mac and PC very well and the media controls are a nice touch - I used the previous versions and bought about 5 for others in my family with no issues - Low profile keys now are a great touch - One of the best typing experiences allowing a good hybrid from laptop keyboards to a semi-mechanical feel and quite quiet for the experience (though not silent). Id compare to a brown switch. The Bad - Marketing on this really irritates me because they sell and almost IDENTICAL looking version that is only a membrane for $30 less and it is nowhere near the typing experience. - V2 had a soft pad for the wrist rest and now its gone? Why move backwards? - The magnets feel less strong on the keyboard to wrist rest - I really wish they sold a 65% version of this keyboard for better portability - Treated as their "budget" keyboard so there is no snap-tap for gaming (would be nice) - Could complain about no hot-swappable keys but its ok for the technology - No Bluetooth or wireless connections. Ill end this all by saying this is still one of my favorite keyboards and quite unique but it seems they are moving backwards instead of forward. V2 had a bit more to offer minus the media control in comparison and lower profile keys. I just wish they made one of these that was a higher tier and treated with the same quality as their full mechanical boards and a bit smaller. Overall I still love the feel and quality on this keyboard and I cant argue with the pricing at all for the feel. Highly recommended buy but Im leaving a star off for the features that they removed and the easily fixable complaints I listed.

I spend probably 43 total hours trying to find a good keyboard last year to settle on the Keychron B6P-K8. It was good, but had issues in games not registering some key presses when certain button combos were needed. So I looked again. This was the first recommended mesh non mechanical key low profile keybaord I found. I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE mechanical keyboards. But I did not expect a best of both worlds keyboard when I barely looked at the listing. This thing has good low key travel like I like, short keys, and it's clicky, and the depression force required to press breaks after the initial pop. AMAZING. THIS IS WHAT I SPEND SO LONG LOOKING FOR. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!!!!!!! Now make the board part significantly shorter so I don't need the stupid wrist rest that should be attached and not magnetic.

I purchased this model two years ago and love it, especially the magnetic padded wrist pad. Unfortunately, I set a name tag on the wrist pad, and the thin coating peeled off. I covered it with a decal, and the decal and the coating underneath are peeling off. I was willing to pay for a replacement keyboard just to get the magnetic and soft wrist pad. My plan was to use it with my old keyboard, which works fine. When the package arrived, I removed the wrist pad and discovered it's not padded. Also, the dimensions have changed slightly. It's not as wide or as high as my original wrist pad, so it doesn't match my old keyboard. Also, the magnets are not positioned the same. NOTE: The new keyboard, wrist pad, and magnets match each other perfectly. So, I am stuck with a dilemma. Do I keep the keyboard and pad that I love, and look for a solution to the cosmetic issues? Or do I replace the keyboard and wrist pad and settle? I wish I could get a replacement wrist pad, but Razer doesn't sell it separately.

I received a keyboard that had already been used—and apparently returned as defective—where the number keys on the numeric keypad get stuck. Never again.

I connected my Ornata V2 keyboard to a faulty USB hub - and burned it out. So, I had to get a new keyboard. I have so enjoyed my Ornata V2 and an Ornata TKL V3 I purchased that I wanted to get another Ornata. I like the feel and the responsiveness it provides - and for a good price. No, I am not a gamer. I am a remote technology worker, so a good keyboard is a necessity, not a "nice to have". I find the V3 Ornata equally good to my previous V2 Ornata. The V2 had a soft wrist rest, which sounded good at the beginning. However, hand cream and other chemicals quickly damaged the cover of the wrist rest. The V3 solid wrist rest feels different, but equally supportive for long hours of typing. It also is much more resistant to the things that destroyed the V2 wrist rest. Oh, and the back light colours are awesome!

El teclado no solo te da lo que te ofrece o aparece también cuenta con funciones que me emociono desde que lo conecte. (Para gente nueva en la marca) te lo recomiendo mucho. Y mas si te gusta personalizar tu pc y jugar con los colores y asignación de teclado. Yo lo tome en oferta y creo que muy barato y de muy buena calidad , si te preocupa la garantía o la seguridad de tu equipo por el precio ni te preocupes ya viene con garantia de parte de razer al registrar tu producto en la página. Tal ves no es mecánico ni tiene el reposamuñecas alcochado pero esta muy bien por el.precio lo recomiendo mucho

Have put about 500 hours of gaming and projects behind this keyboard at time of writing this review. Finish is just starting to come off the wrist support where I have my left hand wresting regularly. Key strokes feel very satisfying and smooth. Color customization with razer synapse is a pretty cool feature too.
