Very nice and funny,Great book, the plot in the story is sweeping and fascinating it's time to see the episode

A great read which is going to stay with me forever. The language and style are simple and effective. I could actually visualize the streets, the cities, the houses and every character. The author has subtly presented every person's strengths and weaknesses and each role fits perfectly in the story. The novel flows smooth like a river, a must read.

this book kept me company for many sleepless nights and I got quite attached to the characters.I didn't know what this book was about and was rather surprised in a good way. The characters were very real to me and I liked the way that the story unfolded.The reason this was given a 3 was that it didn't not satisfy my sense of justice. No mention was made about Luna's treatment of her mother and how her daughter treated her!! What goes around comes around!!

Before I had even finished reading this book, I knew that I wanted to start at the beginning and read it all over again in case I missed any minute detail. It’s more than a novel, it’s history, it’s geography, it’s almost a documentary on Sephardic Jews ( my heritage) and their way of life in Israel through the Turkish rule, the English mandate and finally independence, all interwoven within this wonderful story of a fascinating family. Read it!

Love this story of family. Each of all the many characters have a story which you have to travel the years together with. Love and strong willed woman are abundant yet above all family is the root that binds them. Highly recommended

What a wonderful absorbing book. I loved it. A story that angered me, frustrated me, and keep me turning the page. I'm not sure I actually liked any of the characters, they were damaged and complex, but fantastic tale of love and war. More please.

I really enjoyed this book.I watched the series on Netflix and I found that it kept going back and forth in years.The book flowed great read glad I read it answered a.lot of questions
