Always cap the port. It will illuminate it getting dirty=falty
My other charging port went faulty. I never did use these caps? Must have gotten dirty wouldn't " connect " anymore ? My nephew installed this new one. Works nice.

I installed this charging port on my wife's iPad, and it works great. It is very helpful if you watch videos before attempting the repair. There are very specific tools and order of disassembly to prevent damaging your iPad beyond repair.
